The ACMT Communications Coordinator is a collaborative role that will assist with the design, planning, and distribution of communications-related aspects of educational and marketing activities. This position serves as a crucial bridge to ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across ACMT’s Marketing& Communications, and Education departments, with .50 FTE reporting to each.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong design competence, excellent written and verbal skills, exceptional organizational skills, be able to handle multiple tasks at once, manage time effectively and balance direction from multiple individuals while maintaining strong attention to detail.

About ACMT

TheAmerican College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT)is a professional, nonprofit member association, and the primary organization that serves Medical Toxicologists. Our membership comprises physicians board certified in medical toxicology, and other medical professionals with recognized expertise in the specialty.

Medical Toxicologyis a subspecialty of medicine with a focus on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of injury and illness from exposure to drugs and chemicals, as well as biological and radiological agents. Medical toxicologists work in clinical, academic, governmental and public health settings, and provide poison control center leadership.

Although ACMT is based in Phoenix, AZ, this position is not location-based, with staff located around the country. We have a small, collaborative team of around 20 staff members who all work from home and conduct business virtually. Some travel is required -- two or three times a year to work an in-person event or attend staff retreats.

Primary Responsibilities For Marketing And Communications Department

Manage monthly member newsletter content and design, adhering to company brand standards.
Create graphics for social media, website, marketing materials, adhering to company brand standards.
Design and schedule social media campaigns adhering to company brand standards.
Create marketing videos (Animoto) adhering to company brand standards.
Maintain/update contact database for email marketing campaigns.
Update ACMT websites including events calendar, newsfeed posts, and other items as needed using WordPress Gutenberg Editor.
Assist in production of Annual publications including ACMT Annual Report, MTF Impact Report, Annual Scientific Meeting Prospectus.
Gathering analytics/metrics as needed for quarterly board reports.
Develop website content and perform updates.
Development and distribution of Press Releases.
Team player, willing to assist other departments with administrative tasks as needed.

Primary Responsibilities For Education Department

Serve as primary administrative and production support for ACMT Webinars.
Provide logistical support for ACMT educational events, both in-person and virtual.
Provide administrative support for the ACMT Learning Center (Elevate), creating registration modules, responding to user inquiries, managing archival content, etc.
Provide general administrative and programmatic support for the Education Department. Duties will include: collecting and analyzing programmatic metrics, data management, creating evaluative tools for various activities, etc.

Experience& Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of General Studies), preferably in communications, marketing, graphic design, English, or related field.
At least two years’ experience in design, marketing, or project coordination
Proficiency with Adobe Suite programs including InDesign, Photoshop; proficiency with Illustrator a plus
Experience with email marketing platforms (Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, Higher Logic)
Experience with social media scheduling platforms (such as Hootsuite)
Knowledge of website Content Management Systems (WordPress); some knowledge of HTML is also preferable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Self-motivated and proactive; someone who takes full ownership of their work and is flexible to prioritize or reprioritize, as needed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with various audiences
Possesses superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Persistent, resourceful problem-solving and analytical skills with excitement to take on challenges
Must be results-oriented, dependable, adhere to established time commitments and demonstrate strong customer service attributes
Knowledge of virtual event platforms (Zoom Meetings& Zoom Webinar)
Ability to travel to in-person events (1-2 times a year)

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of experience with copywriting and editing. Experience with scientific/technical writing is a plus.
Degree in in marketing, communications, design, or related field
Experience managing high-volume calendars and strategic scheduling across multiple time zones
Experience working with a medical (or other professional) membership associations
Knowledge of Association Management Systems (MemberSuite) and Learning Management Systems (Elevate)
Knowledge of Remote Office Collaboration Tools (Google Drive, Drop Box, Slack, Smartsheet)
Knowledge of User Experience Design or Design Methodology
Experience with scientific writing
Customer service mindset, confident with phone inquiries
Video editing experience, a plus
Project management skills, a plus
