Food Share is Ventura County’s largest hunger-relief organization feeding 267,000 people annually with a staff of 38 employees, 3,800 volunteers and a budget of $9 million to distribute nearly 20 million pounds of food annually. The non-profit organization was founded 46 years ago and is an affiliate member of Feeding America and the California Association of Food Banks.

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a highly motivated self-starter who brings a strategic mindset and creative flair, coupled with a profound passion for driving positive social impact. As the Marketing Director, you will lead the creation and execution of comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies across multiple channels. Your goal will be to elevate our organization's visibility, engage stakeholders, optimize individual fundraising efforts, and garner awareness of and support for our mission across diverse audiences and mediums.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and implement a multi-channel marketing strategy that supports fundraising goals, programs, and events, and is aligned with the organization's goals and mission.
Maintain and enhance the organization's brand identity through the creation of visually compelling graphics, videos, advertising materials, and photography.
Prepare and manage an annual marketing budget based on organizational goals ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact and ROI.
Manage vendor relationships with external agencies, printers, web program teams, and media outlets
Develop and execute a social media strategy to engage and grow the organization's online community, ensuring consistency with brand messaging. Manage the Food Share website.
Develop and execute compelling TV, print, and radio advertisements that resonate with the target audience.
Conceptualize, script, produce, and direct high-quality videos that effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.
Write compelling and on-brand copy for various marketing channels, including website content, press releases, a quarterly newsletter, annual report, blog, and programmatic flyers.
Establish KPIs for all marketing efforts, including eblasts and fundraising campaigns. Use data-driven insights (Google Analytics, Meta Analytics) to refine strategies and tactics.

What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Extensive experience (7+ years) in marketing roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Expertise in digital marketing practices, traditional advertising, direct mail, social media, and content creation, with a special emphasis on leveraging video for compelling storytelling to boost engagement and fundraising contributions.
Experience working in or managing external agencies a big plus.
Experience managing a WordPress website with, preferably, a basic knowledge of html.
Experience with project management software, preferably Trello.
Experience with automated eblast platforms, preferably Mailchimp.
Experience utilizing social media automation and data analytics platforms.
Proficiency in using design software.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to spend time in a warehouse environment as necessary.
In instances of a federal, state, or locally declared emergency, Food Share of Ventura County is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all its employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties outside the scope of their usual responsibilities.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 per year
