Development & Scholarship Committee Members Needed!

The South High Foundation is an independent, volunteer based, 501(c)3 organization active at Minneapolis South High School. The Foundation is seeking new volunteers to help it carry forward its mission of helping South High students. Donations and investments have allowed the foundation to distribute more $220,000 in scholarships and $100,000 in grants this year alone with more than $1M in scholarships since its formation in 1983. Membership includes alumni, friends, parents, and allies from the community.

Mission: To provide financial assistance and support for programs at South High School that directly enhance the students overall high school experience by enriching their academic, cultural, and extracurricular experience; and to support and enhance their ability to further their education after high school.

Scholarship Committee - review student applications and reward more than $200,000 for post-secondary education.

Development Committee - fundraise and develop resources to sustain the mission. Create a new event that engages recent alum and community. Contribute to the newsletter or outreach plan.

Meetings and Time Commitments

1-2 hours per month. More time might be required leading up to an event or year-end.
Preference to candidates that have a connection to the South High Community (alumni, parents, former parents, community members, etc)
