Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Advertising Sales Representative to lead sales efforts for digital advertising products, including digital display ads, newsletters, programmatic deals, direct sales, and branded content. This role offers the opportunity to represent a growing network of newsrooms, fostering meaningful relationships with national, regional, and local advertisers to help these newsrooms achieve consistent revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Outreach:
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve advertising revenue goals, focusing on digital display, newsletters, programmatic, and branded content opportunities.
- Conduct outreach to national-level advertisers, with the flexibility to pivot to regional and local markets as opportunities arise.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture relationships with key partners, including agencies like GroupM, Google, and Bully Pulpit.
- Act as the primary point of contact for advertisers, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities.
- Performance Tracking & Feedback:
- Set realistic revenue goals and adjust strategies based on performance feedback to ensure sustained success.
- Work toward a goal of $10,000 in monthly revenue per newsroom, leveraging proven success from well-supported individual newsrooms.
- Collaboration & Resource Utilization:
- Leverage tools and existing relationships to enhance outreach and efficiency.
- Collaborate with network leadership and editorial teams to develop advertising solutions that align with newsroom missions.
- Strategic Travel & Event Representation:
- Attend relevant industry events to represent the network, foster partnerships, and build a robust advertiser pipeline.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with 5+ years in digital advertising sales, with a strong understanding of direct and programmatic channels.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with advertisers, agencies, and brands.
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with digital advertising tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms (e.g., ZoomInfo, Google Ad Manager).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a flexible, self-starter attitude; comfortable working independently.
