Position Summary

Responsible for development, adaptation and implementation and coordination of a sex education and pregnancy prevention curriculum within the schools and community organizations; integration of school education and Teens P.A.C.T. services; assistance with providing coordination and supervision of the Peer Education program.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of age-appropriate, sexual health education curriculum in schools and at community organizations, including but not limited to:
  • Development and adaptation of curriculum;
  • Outreach and scheduling of presentations in accordance with program goals and objectives;
  • Virtual and in-person facilitation of workshops, informational sessions, outreach and other activities for Peer Educators.
  • Promotion and advocacy of the Teens P.A.C.T. program to the community through participation in health fairs, coalitions, task forces, and advocacy to community and political leaders.
  • Integration of community education with other Teens P.A.C.T. components (social media campaigns, horizon expanding activities, and Teens P.A.C.T. reproductive healthcare services.
  • Contribute articles to the Teens P.A.C.T. newsletter (supports the Social Media Coordinator with layout, editing and ensuring the appropriateness of Peer Educators’ articles, program announcements, etc.).
  • Contributes lessons plans and activities to the expansion of the Teens PACT More Than Just Sex sexual health curriculum.
  • Submits a monthly calendar and report of activities and statistics to the Program Manager.
  • Data entry; updates and cleans Teens P.A.C.T. databases.
  • Facilitates related services for health center patients as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  • Compliance with Employee Health Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certificate/License Required

  • B.A. or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

  • Previous experience working with adolescents in a school setting.
  • Previous experience working with adolescents in the areas of pregnancy prevention, sex-education, sexuality, adolescent development and youth development.
  • Experience conducting workshops in large and small groups.
  • Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills.
  • Public speaking skills to facilitate workshops in public forums
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Communication skills using the spoken word.
  • Willingness to take on new assignments, as needed.
