This position is a maternity leave replacement, covering the absence of an employee on maternity leave. The role is temporary and expected to last for 5 months.
Emerging beauty brand start-up - founded by a female makeup chemist offering solution-focused, formula first and accessible beauty that won’t clog pores.
This role gives you exposure to the strategy and execution of all sales + marketing initiatives across HALEYS retail channels: Costco International, Amazon, Faire, Macys and more.
1) Business Development: Continual channel growth is a priority therefore constant business development is essential for brand success and growth
Create, update and maintain Retailer Brand Book
Participate in retailer calls and live meetings, take notes during calls and follow up with buyers on outstanding requests (including sampling)
Keep momentum moving forward with buyers (including emailing buyers sample tracking #, fact sheets, usage tips and more)
Onboard and item set up for new retailers and product launches
2) 360 Marketing: Develop and execute 360 launch and campaign strategies across all HALEYS retailers
Create and execute promotional marketing calendar to support customer retention + acquisition, promotions and launches
Align marketing calendar, activities and content including social, paid media (mainly Amazon), email newsletter (HB.com), organic and paid influencer, blog, etc.
Packaging and display design briefing to final artwork hand-off project management
Create or partner with Digital Manager on retailer PDP, display or any asset/content
Ensure that all brand elements in terms of esthetics, tone and voice are consistently carried throughout all creatives, content, assets and campaign initiatives
Be scrappy about attaining content in an affordable and budget conscious manner
Track and analyze all channel sales, productivity and return rates
Deliver monthly and annual analysis on current business and trends with an understanding of retailer and competitive landscape
3) Amazon Paid Media & SEO:
Work with paid ad agency/consultant to improve and achieve target ROAS, impressions and other metrics. Paid Media PPC may include other retail channels outside of Amazon (e.g. Criteo and other platforms on retailer sites)
Partner with designer (or Digital Manager) to create compelling paid ads (in both static and video format) and understand results/metrics
Work with agency to attain SEO and implement on Amazon platform
Attend weekly Amazon paid ads Zoom calls on Mondays at 9am – 10am PST
4)Affiliate andInfluencers Programs – Drive product launch, key promotional periods or other brand campaigns through influencer and affiliate programs
Amazon Affiliate (Content Creator) program: understand program, metrics and help guide Social Media contractor to optimize ROI/success
Paid and Organic Influencers are vital to bring awareness to the brand. There are opportunities to partner with Social Media contractor in working with paid influencers to help drive promotional periods or product launches (i.e. identifying influencer partner, helping with campaign briefing, creating BRB tracking link, helping optimize value/negotiations and post mortem review)
5) Miscellaneous:
Responsible for staying within the sales and marketing budget for HALEYS retailer channels
Report Amazon weekly and monthly results (including ROAS, impressions, etc.) and provide context/analysis for Sales, Paid Ads, Affiliate, Influencer, and etc
Work with contractors and agencies
Continuously look for opportunities for HALEYS to grow sustainably
Test formulas in product development pipeline and provide feedback
You could be the perfect fit if you have:
Junior or Senior in 4-yr college studying business related field or bachelors degree. Some experience working with Paid Media, SEO and influencers is helpful
Strong leadership, communication, analytical and project management skills
Interested in learning to work with agencies with a high degree of collaboration in a goal-driven environment
Personable and flexible with demands and changes in extremely fast-moving business environment
Must have a voracious appetite and passion for Beauty, retailer partnership, brand growth within retailer and developing/executing 360 marketing for promotions and launches
Solid analytical, verbal, organizational and written communication, presentation skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word
Must live in the SF/Bay Area California with partial remote (2 days in San Francisco office and 3 days at home)
