Summary
The Digital Content Communications Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business. The Digital Content Communications Specialist creates compelling written and editorial content to promote the school on its digital channels, in marketing materials, on digital signage and in print. The Digital Content Communications Specialist regularly writes and makes updates to the school’s social media channels, compiles, and creates internal newsletter content and assists with graphic design and video production as needed. The Digital Content Communications Specialist will serve as the communications liaison for Freeman’s academic areas, the Experiential Business Learning Center, institutes, and internal and external constituents while contributing to the institution's growth and impact through strategic communication planning, project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in communications, project management, or a similar role within the higher education sector.
• Excellent listener with the ability to absorb large amounts of information and create compelling narratives.
• Creative with the ability to brainstorm and conceptualize new forms of content and communications campaigns for products and services. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
• Proficiency in various communication tools, project management software, social and digital marketing platforms.
• Highly organized and able to work under deadline pressure effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
• 3 years demonstrated relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in preparing reports and presentations.
• Recent marketing and communications experience in an institution of higher education or a non-profit organization similar to higher education.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 25.
