Marketing & Events Coordinator

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Location: Brian Head Resort 329 UT-143 Brian Head, UT 84719

Employment Type: Full-Time, Seasonal (Winter & Summer)

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Marketing & Events Coordinator to join our team for our winter and summer seasons. This unique position plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by blending creative marketing strategies with the execution of unforgettable resort events. This role will adapt to our seasonal business needs, focusing heavily on event planning and fulfillment in the vibrant summer and spring months, and shifting to a marketing-centric role during the winter.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for both marketing and event management, an eye for detail, and a genuine love for the outdoors. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing diverse responsibilities, and want to share your passion for the mountain lifestyle, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

A Note on Our Seasonal Rhythm: This is a seasonal position designed for those who embrace the adventure of a mountain lifestyle. There will be a planned, unpaid break in employment during the shoulder seasons (spring and fall), typically lasting 3 to 5 weeks between seasons. This built-in downtime is a unique opportunity to pursue your own grand adventures, whether that means backpacking for an extended period, taking a long raft trip, or traveling to other parts of the world to ski before returning refreshed for the next exciting season with us.

Key Responsibilities

This role's focus will shift based on the active season.

Summer Season Focus: Event Planning & Fulfillment

  • Large-Scale Event Coordination: Take the lead in planning and executing marquee resort events like Octoberfest and other seasonal celebrations, managing all aspects from conception to post-event evaluation.
  • Event Strategy & Execution: Understand event themes and objectives to develop comprehensive plans, timelines, and strategies that ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.
  • Entertainment & Atmosphere: Research, book, and coordinate live music, performers, and other entertainment to elevate the event atmosphere, working with booking agents as needed.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Source and manage relationships with vendors, audio teams, decorators, and community partners. Obtain quotes, review contracts, and coordinate services to align with event specifications and budget.
  • Internal Communication & Team Leadership: Act as the central liaison for all internal resort teams. You are in charge of ensuring every department knows what is happening and are confident in corralling the specific teams needed to properly execute the event from start to finish.
  • On-Site Leadership: Oversee all on-site event logistics, including venue preparation, setup, and teardown. Act as the point person for any issues, providing quick and professional problem-solving.

Winter Season Focus: Marketing & Communications

  • Marketing Campaign Execution: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute creative and cohesive marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including email newsletters, websites, blogs, social media, and paid advertising.
  • Content Creation & Copywriting: Create compelling and engaging copy for webpages, blog posts, event listings, newsletters, and social media to captivate and inform our audience, ensuring all content aligns with our brand voice.
  • Digital Platform Management: Maintain and update website content through WordPress, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and basic SEO optimization. Regularly share weather and resort updates across the website and social media channels.
  • Email Marketing: Develop targeted newsletter campaigns, manage automated email flows, identify key audience segments, and analyze performance metrics to drive engagement.
  • Strategic Analysis & Innovation: Proactively stay ahead of emerging marketing and AI trends to keep our strategy progressive. Leverage AI and other modern technologies to analyze campaign performance, social media engagement, and sales data, translating those insights into actionable strategies and continuous improvements that keep our resort at the forefront of the industry.

Ongoing Responsibilities (During Seasons Of Employment)

  • Wedding & Group Visit Assistance: Assist the sales and operations teams in the fulfillment of weddings and group visits, ensuring a high-quality experience for these key clients.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with all resort departments to define staffing needs for events and ensure clear communication and assignment of responsibilities.
  • Community & Media Relations: Assist with overseeing community donation and media requests, fostering positive relationships.
  • Post-Event/Campaign Evaluation: Assess the success of all events and campaigns by tracking key metrics, gathering feedback, and submitting detailed evaluations to propose improvements.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the overall success of the resort.
