Commercial Real Estate Analyst

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Commercial Real Estate Analyst to support our Commercial team. This multifaceted role blends property underwriting, research, marketing, and transaction support to help drive data-informed decisions and ensure successful deal execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building complex financial models, generating Broker Opinion of Values, managing marketing campaigns, and overseeing escrow timelines. The analyst will play a critical role in our brokerage operations and client engagement, helping to bring deals from concept to close—while gaining professional growth and career advancement. Key Responsibilities


Analysis & Underwriting

  • Underwrite multifamily, mixed-use and commercial properties, including rent and expense projections and financing assumptions
  • Prepare detailed Broker Opinion of Values, Offering Memorandums, and client presentations
  • Perform cash-flow modeling and value-add projections
  • Research, analyze and record all multifamily and mixed-use sale transactions
  • Conduct rent surveys, rent passthrough opportunities, and targeted ownership and market research

Marketing & Communications

  • Create and manage e-blasts, quarterly newsletter, and investor/client updates
  • Manage and coordinate mailing data and postcard campaigns
  • Assist marketing department with magazine, web, newspaper advertising
  • Development content and produce quarterly Maven Multifamily Insights newsletter

Transaction Support

  • Coordinate due diligence and escrow timelines
  • Track title, insurance, inspections, appraisals, and tenant management issues
  • Assist in offer handling, broker communications, and contract execution
  • Ensure proper documentation, review management records and closing deliverables
  • Research permit history, planning documents and constructions records

Research & Prospecting

  • Maintain Salesforce database of properties, ownership, transactions, principals, vendors and brokers
  • Compile comparable sales, and conduct detailed sale studies and rent surveys
  • Analyze financing options, lender terms, and underwriting benchmarks
  • Build and maintain specialized mailing and prospect lists, conduct in-depth analysis support, phone outreach and client meetings

Development & Training

  • Opportunity to learn foundational skills in brokerage, including proposals, presentations, deal structuring and client service
  • Support senior brokers in showings, property tours and cataloging new listings
  • Participate in industry events, organization meetings and networking opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on real estate, finance, business, data science, marketing or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate, housing, investment sales or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Experience with Salesforce
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Curiosity to learn and work with contracts, escrow processes, and real estate transaction timelines
  • Team player with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Real estate salesperson license or certifications (e.g., CCIM, MAI)
  • Experience with Excel, Salesforce, Apto CRM, marketing automation, and database systems
  • Knowledge of San Francisco Bay Area real estate markets, rental housing, and housing policy
