Job Description:
We are seeking a Temporary Web and Graphic Designer to join our communications team. This role is split evenly between creative design work and digital content management, making it ideal for a versatile, self-motivated designer who can bring strong visual ideas to life while maintaining high technical standards online.
The ideal candidate is a confident, experienced designer with excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite and a solid working knowledge of Drupal and HubSpot. They will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven academic environment, balancing daily production needs with creative thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Creative (50%)
- Conceptualize and design digital and print assets (e.g., event collateral, social graphics, web banners, templates, postcards, brochures) using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Develop visually compelling layouts that align with our brand standards and elevate campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with colleagues to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visual designs.
- Support the development of new creative concepts and visual identities for special projects and campaigns.
Web & Digital Communications (50%)
- Create, edit, and publish content in our Drupal-based website, maintaining consistency and accuracy.
- Assist in sending a daily e-newsletter in HubSpot, ensuring excellent design, accessibility, and attention to detail.
- Maintain consistent branding across all web and email communications.
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, and communications teams to meet daily deadlines and campaign goals.
- Contribute to other digital content or design projects as needed.
Requirements
· 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual creativity, layout skills, and brand execution across digital formats
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
· Basic web/content management skills — familiarity with CMS platforms and/or basic HTML (experience in Drupal and HubSpot a plus but not required)
· Strong eye for detail, typography, and composition
· Ability to manage daily deadlines and balance multiple priorities independently
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
