About the role
They are looking for an experienced and self-starting newsletter strategist and producer who is passionate about parenting and family lifestyle content. You will play an integral role in driving forward one of the key growth initiatives for their key family website and will be comfortable thinking strategically as well as rolling up your sleeves and executing.
- Own the email channel for their family website and work closely and cross-functionally with content, marketing and product teams to advise on email marketing strategy and drive business metrics.
- Use your keen understanding of email best practices and cutting-edge industry innovations to propose and drive initiatives to substantially enhance our program.
- Create, implement, analyze and report on audience segments, workflows and experiments to continuously improve email performance and business KPIs.
- Create and manage an always-on email testing program, continuously working to improve engagement (e.g., opens, clicks, conversion, and long-term returns).
- Oversee the newsletter calendar and work closely with freelance copywriters and designers, as well as in-house content colleagues as they renovate and optimize web content for the newsletter.
- Ideate and execute strategies and tactics to drive user acquisition and accelerate the growth of newsletter subscribers - including onsite conversion, cross-promotion of newsletters, paid acquisitions, referral programs, etc.
- Work with advertising and sales colleagues to position newsletters as an ad and sponsorship product.
About you
- 5+ years of email marketing and email operations experience in a related field, with a background in copywriting and content creation.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple concurrent and time-sensitive requests - while remaining calm and upbeat.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing creative, high-impact email campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experiment-first mentality; ample experience with A/B testing and email optimization.
- Comfortable working with data and digging into numbers; deep understanding of email KPIs, metrics, and reporting with the ability to translate into concrete insights.
- The ability to proactively drive initiatives forward at pace, solving problems and finding workable solutions as you go.
- Experience at a parenting or lifestyle content business, or at a highly trafficked content website.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Desirable
● responsive HTML and CSS coding knowledge skills.
