Job Summary
The Internal Communications Associate will help develop, deliver and measure the effectiveness of internal communications to ensure Bojangles’ employees are informed and engaged. You will manage multiple priorities with attention to accuracy and detail as you plan and implement projects that are part of Bojangles’ internal communications strategy. As Internal Communications Associate, you will:
- Create engaging content that drives employee understanding of key company initiatives, increases employee engagement and drives business results
- Produce and manage content for internal channels, such as emails, e-newsletters, intranet, company meetings
- Research internal communications tools to drive engagement
- Support executive communications
- Serve as a communications thought partner to People and Operations leaders
- Ensure content developed for external stakeholders is shared appropriately and in a timely manner with employees
The ideal candidate is collaborative and a skilled writer who can produce compelling written internal communications and provide constructive feedback on executive and other communications, including emails, presentations, video and speeches. The person is passionate about people and constantly seeking out the most inspiring stories of employees and create innovative ways to communicate those to the company.
This role reports to the Sr. Director of Communications and will support the strategic business objectives of Bojangles and is in constant communication with the People and Operations teams to drive consistent and structured internal communications.

Job Duties
- Develop internal communications plans, timely and informative messages and presentations in support of key company initiatives, milestones and new offerings that will impact People leaders and employees throughout the entire Bojangles system
- Drive innovative communications tactics and plan, edit and write content to increase employee awareness and engagement, using a variety of channels (e.g. intranet, newsletter, email, video, digital signage, etc.)
- Support all-employee meetings and other department-led events to inform employees about key initiatives and progress toward business strategies and goals
- Contribute to tracking and measurement of internal communications efforts with tools like focus groups, surveys, channel metrics, etc. to evaluate success and optimize for better results, including employment engagement
- Establish strong internal partnerships across Bojangles’ departments and functions in support of aligned internal communications
- Collaborate with IT, Insights team and key vendors to maintain internal email database and distribution lists as well as key internal communications tools (Webex, Teams, email templates, intranet, etc.) for maximum reach
- Continually evaluate and stay on top of trends, new methods and tools to improve internal communications processes and activity to better support business objectives
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of Communications to support the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation.
Work Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing and/or related area of study
- 3 years of experience in an internal communications role
- The agility to thrive in a changing environment, juggling competing tasks with exceptional organization
- Strong empathy: the ability to listen carefully, be sensitive to different audience perspectives and different ways people take in information and be inclusive in all communications
- Understanding of internal communications best practices, including message development, channel strategy and tactical deployment
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and presentation skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach to integrated communications and marketing
- Self-driven and motivated with the ability to be proactive and creative
- Professional executive presence and confidence to collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience developing executive communications
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.)
- Knowledge of accepted style guides
