Massachusetts State Digital Editor
This position is intended to increase the performance of Wicked Local’s overall digital footprint by acting as the digital designee working with planners, handling Wicked Local’s social media accounts, optimizing stories, and working with reporters on digital engagement projects, such as newsletter or Facebook groups.
Job Details
- Work with planners to execute the digital plan for social posting schedules on Instagram and Facebook.
- Make sure the tags are assigned to Wicked Locals. Consider yourself the defensive and the other planners in the offense in making sure this happens.
- Take ownership of the Wicked Local Facebook groups and working with reporters to build audience and engagement
- Work on projects, such as polls, brackets, and reader callouts, that can be done across Wicked Local and contribute to subscriber growth or retention.
- Be a source for Wicked Local editors/reporters on how to best go about optimizing their stories for digital success online.
- Work with planners and DOT on Wicked Local's newsletter, video, social, SEO, strategy, etc.
Typical Job Duties
- Exercise individual judgment within standard practices and procedures; can resolve moderately complex problems as they occur.
- Deal with issues that require review of a variety of factors.
- Responsible for editing articles as well as posting articles, photos, cartoons, and other content to products for internal and external customers.
- Proofread pages, websites and designs as needed, writes articles for publication and posts to social media accounts as required.

- Must embrace peer-to-peer feedback and training.
- Applies innovative, creative thinking to support the company's goals.
- Writing, spelling, grammar, AP, and local style.
Required Work Experience, Training, And Education
- Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or equivalent in experience and education.
- 1-2 years of experience with advanced storytelling techniques on multiple platforms.
