Position Description
The Community Builders, Inc. is hiring a Communications Coordinator who is passionate about our mission with communications experience, social media savvy and graphic design skills to build and engage our external and internal audiences as we implement our 2020-2024 strategic plan. Reporting to the Acting Head of Communications and Fund Development, the Communications Coordinator is The Community Builders' lead mission storyteller. The Communications Coordinator drafts, creates, and publishes multimedia content optimized for social media, serves as digital newsletter editor and coordinates reputation management and reporting. The position may require up to 10 percent travel.
Essential Functions
Develop department business plan initiatives to communicate our mission impact and cultivate donors through the newsletter, social media, tcbinc.org, email and live events Coordinate across regional teams and corporate departments to support the 2020-2024 strategic plan and communications campaign Create integrated resident-centered storytelling campaigns and editorial calendars Collect, analyze and report engagement data from various digital platforms to inform strategy for future outreach, editorial content and ongoing communications Provide brand oversight and overall strategy Use communications and marketing management platforms, such as Meltwater and Mailchimp for analysis and internal stakeholder reporting Use multimedia software, such as Adobe Cloud, to create supporting graphics and videos optimized for online and social media Forge constructive relationships in-person and via remote work platforms across real estate development, property management, Community Life and corporate department teams
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Impeccable communication skills both orally and in writing Excellent in-person and remote interpersonal skills Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint Strong attention to detail Highly adept at translating complex information into relevant and understandable communications for multiple audiences Proficiency in social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, including InDesign Illustrator and PremierePro Experience with email marketing and basic marketing campaign concepts
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field 3-5 years in Communications or a related field. Communications/Marketing/Graphic Design or related degree preferred. Agency or nonprofit experience preferred.
