Eastern Shore Land Conservancy Seeks Communications Manager
The Communications Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the full suite of ESLC’s communications assets, ensuring our visionary conservation work is portrayed with professionalism, timeliness, and the highest quality possible. The Communications Manager will report to the Director of Advancement and Operations and will work out of our office in downtown Easton, Maryland. This is a full-time position offering a salary range between $55,000-$65,000, based on experience, and a competitive benefits package. The nature of this work includes occasional travel, weekends, evenings, and longer hours when necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES
-Develop cutting-edge and consistently excellent communications strategies to ensure ESLC brand awareness and the timely promotion of our work.
-Manage ESLC’s website.
-Develop regular content for ESLC’s social media channels, with an emphasis on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
-Implement strategies for growing our online and email audiences.
-Develop and utilize strategies to measure the effectiveness of organizational communications efforts.
-Coordinate production of our bi-weekly newsletter, Conservancy Connections.
-Write and place press releases, letters to the editor, and opposite-editorials and develop relationships with relevant traditional media professionals.
-Coordinate annual production of our Conservation Impact Report.
-Assist advancement team with creation of fundraising and promotional materials.
-Develop other external publications for ESLC.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
-A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
-Minimum of three to five years of professional experience in one or more of the following: communications, journalism, marketing, or graphic design.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Experience with copyediting and proofreading.
-Familiarity with MS Office product suite.
-Training or experience with design platforms such as Canva or Adobe InDesign preferred.
-Experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
-Experience with photography, videography, and relevant editing software.
-A passion for conservation, the outdoors, and protecting the rural Eastern Shore of Maryland.
