The Team
The Digital Gaming team’s mission is to expand Mattel’s ever-growing IP catalog in the digital gaming space. This includes outbound IP licensing of our brands to 3rd party game developers/publishers and partnering with other companies for co-development. The team is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds to tackle the key challenges such as strategy, operations, slate management, marketing, business development/licensing, UX/UI, and production.
The Opportunity
The Digital Gaming team is seeking a Platform Submissions Coordinator based in Los Angeles, CA who will be responsible for all platform submissions for self-published and connected play apps & games. We need someone who is driven, smart, hard-working, and willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. This person will serve as the primary point of contact for all requirements, submissions, technical issues, and management of the various platforms at the company.
This role is a great fit for anyone who loves video games, loves a dynamic working environment, and enjoys working with partners. This role needs to be able to forge internal and external relationships to help expand the business.
What Your Impact Will Be - Communicate with Apple App Store and Google Play about upcoming app releases (maintain spreadsheet with release dates and basic details)
- Answer questions regarding App Store/Google Play guidelines (is physical product required for reviews, or is a video demo sufficient?)
- Setup initial project on App Store (Certificates, Provisioning Profiles, In-App Purchases, Subscriptions, etc.)
- Update metadata (screenshots, preview videos, description text, keywords, etc.) for all supported languages / localizations for all new submissions & content updates (as needed)
- Distribute necessary certificates and profiles to the development teams (internal & external)
- Work with developers to receive the necessary files required for the binary submission of the app/game
- Upload build files to app store for both testing and live
- Submit builds for review and go live when approved
- Manage tester accounts in TestFlight and Google Beta (shared responsibility/access)
- Gather Privacy, Designed for Families, and other required info and input into app stores
- Gather store front analytics on downloads, installs, updates, and other usage
- Provide internal e-newsletter or similar form to 1st party platform updates, best practices, trends, etc.
- Determine, implement, maintain best practices for app publishing
- Coordination with various internal teams, including but not limited to Design & Development, Future Lab, Digital Gaming, Global Brand Team (GBT), Marketing, Legal and Finance
What We’re Looking For
- 3-6 years of gaming experience
- Pulse on the latest trends in video games
- Basic knowledge & expertise of the video game landscape
- Technical background to be able to manage the various storefronts effectively
- Basic understanding of free-to-play, play-to-earn/web3, subscription, and premium business models
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience in Submissions/Deployment, QA, or Production at a video game company
- Experience in video games
- Passion for toys, gaming, web3/NFTs, the metaverse, kids/family entertainment, and/or early childhood learning & development
The annual base salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $102,000.
- This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
