The Opportunity
This is a hybrid role in office & partially work from home
As the Benefits Senior Analyst, you will report to a benefits leader under limited supervision or direction and will manage a selection of employee benefits and/or programs. You will manage ongoing vendor relationships to ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and are providing the appropriate service levels.
You will be responsible for a defined set of benefit plans and programs generally of medium complexity with a concentration on the Well-being program and supporting programs, the HSA/FSA plans, and the Employee Assistance Program. You must be comfortable with data, as you will also perform data analytics to more fully understand benefit utilization and cost patterns to provide recommendations for benefit changes or enhancements. The Benefits Senior Analyst regularly will interact with other benefit team members, internal business partners (HR, Legal, IT, Risk, Sourcing, Finance) including groups of employees and regularly provides subject matter expertise in response to escalated benefit matters. You must be an avid learner with solid analytical skills, attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills.
The Work Itself
- Manage assigned benefits and programs, apply relevant regulations, policies and procedures to business issues and day to day responsibilities.
- Exhibits effective challenge in the evaluation of risk to the organization.
- Proactively identify vendor programs that improve value and/or contain cost.
- Conduct utilization and benchmarking analysis; recommends and implements program changes and best practices as approved, conducts Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) as appropriate.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications to stay on top of applicable legislation and maintain benefit and program compliance.
- Participate in or lead benefit-related projects independently and in conjunction with other team members.
- Propose and provide content for monthly benefit newsletter.
- Provide guidance to HR Operations for escalations; manage ERISA appeals.
- Manage supplier life cycle including contracting, assessments, reporting and performance monitoring.
- Monitor/process related invoices and payments.
- Provide operational and administrative support for other benefit vendors, programs and initiatives as necessary.
- Assist in consolidating, monitoring and projecting the benefits budget as needed.
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in benefits
- Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, Business Administration or related field.
- CEBS and/or PHR preferred.
- Experience in employee benefits or related field with significant exposure and understanding of employee benefits or 2 years of experience and actively pursuing / CEBS preferred.Accounting and/or finance knowledge helpful.
- Working knowledge of benefit-related regulations and requirements including COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA and PPACA.
- Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables, VLookups, formulas and analysis required advanced excel skill preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required with the ability to communicate to larger groups.
- Ability to develop well-organized PowerPoint decks.
- Excellent organizational and strong analytical and decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks and balance multiple initiatives required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- General understanding of vendor contract management helpful.
