The Local Palate is seeking a full-time writer and editor dedicated to our creative and partnered content. The position reports to the Editor in Chief and works closely with the Publisher and Sales and Marketing teams to execute all copy generated for and with the Local Palate’s partners and clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing and editing copy for all partner-driven content, which may include:
- Print advertorials; printed travel and dining guides; digital partnered posts; digital newsletters; social media copy; e-commerce digital copy; and more
- Project manage and serve as lead editor on major print projects, including travel and dining guides
- Work closely and collaborate with partners and clients to develop themes and original content
- Act as liaison between partners and sales team
- Occasional writing and editing of TLP brand-related marketing, event, and newsletter copy
- Occasional writing and editing of blog posts for TLP.com and e-commerce site
- Occasional travel to Southern cities/ towns for market research and client meetings
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and detail-focused editor who has a passion for sharing stories, an appreciation for good food, and an excitement for growing an established media brand.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as an editorial copywriter or editor in print and/or digital formats
- Impeccable editing skills; keen attention to detail; expert knowledge of AP Style
- Highly organized and obsessed with deadlines
- Excellent multi-tasker with ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at a time
- People person with exceptional communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, InCopy, Google Drive, Dropbox, Trello, and Slack
- Project management experience a plus
- Recipe editing experience a plus
- Current on food, drink, and travel trends
