Overview: The Copywriter reports directly to the Chief Product Officer. This cross-functional role works with the Product Marketing, Art, Marketing and eCommerce teams and is responsible for creating, coordinating and proofreading consumer-facing copy for websites, advertising, product packaging, and videos.
Copywriter Responsibilities:
- Write articles, infographics, product descriptions, Amazon content, website copy, video/animation scripts and other written content
- Works with product managers to create and edit content for product naming, product descriptions and packaging
- Responsible for reviewing and proofreading packaging as it’s posted
- Review and contribute to blog series posts
- Work with social media and SEO specialist to ensure content is written to effectively drive website traffic and visibility
- Collaborate with Medical Division to ensure their content is brand appropriate
- Edit/proofread copy to ensure it is grammatically correct and follows brand voice and tone
- Collaborate with marketing team on marketing campaigns
- Support marketing team with copy for email newsletter, video projects, digital content, etc. as needed
Copywriter Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or Marketing or related field
- Experience writing for juvenile brands
- Minimum 3 years’ experience writing consumer-facing copy for a Consumer-Packaged Goods company
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
- Working knowledge of search engine optimization best practices and keyword research
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Knowledge of promotional email campaign best practices a plus
