Founded in 1969, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing (National Council) is a membership organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of nearly 3,500 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults, and families they serve. The National Council is a 501(c)(3) association that advocates for policies that ensure people who have mental health and substance use challenges have access to comprehensive, high-quality services. We also offer state-of-the-science education and practice improvement consulting and resources to ensure services are efficient and effective.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director, Communications, the Manager, Communications will serve as a marketing and communications liaison for the Client Development team within the Business Development department of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). This team is responsible for the sales and retention of MHFA clients for all curricula product types, including Adult MHFA, Youth MHFA, teen MHFA and MHFA at Work. The Manager, Communications, will provide strategic insight, planning and project execution for lead generation, seasonal and targeted marketing campaigns and communications related to client development and account management.

Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Communications Director, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive sales marketing plan for all MHFA products in support of client acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to establish a streamlined sales pipeline and sales communication process for all MHFA products.
- Create acquisition campaigns for all MHFA products, including MHFA at Work, Adult MHFA, Youth MHFA and teen MHFA.
- Write and edit materials, including sales materials, external presentations, campaign collateral, thought leadership blogs, emails, social media content, webinar content and more.
- Regularly consult with the Client Development team, Product team, and Product Marketing Manager about client-specific and sales marketing strategies for 2023 and beyond to continuously improve client acquisition, engagement and retention tactics.
- Continuously monitor campaign results and provide recommendations to the Client Development team and external partners.
- Manage quarterly MHFA client and strategic partners e-newsletter.
- Collaborate with team members to identify product specific First Aider and client testimonials.
- Lead and attend regular MarComms, MHFA, and Client Development team meetings, as well as client standing meetings as needed.
- Review prospective client contracts for logo use, promotions and media collaboration providing language and recommendations as needed.
- As needed, attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and promote the National Council and MHFA.
- Collaborate with other MHFA Communications Managers to ensure coordination across all communications and National Council brand messaging alignment.
- Collaborate with other MHFA Communications Managers on brand campaigns and annual observances campaigns, including Mental Health Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day.
- Administrative duties such as work plan creation and execution, project management of tasks within Asana, scheduling project and team related meetings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in related field
- 4-6 years of experience minimum
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- High level of expertise in writing, direct marketing, sales support, lead generation and B2B marketing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM software.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience analyzing data and making data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
- Experience in client facing roles preferred.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to contribute to a strong team-based environment.
- Results-oriented with a high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
