This position will be responsible for supporting the People and Culture department on a daily basis, and be responsible for administration/coordination of company policies, procedures, and practices including payroll, recruiting, benefits and employee relations. Supporting the management team as needed.
Job Duties
- Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide People and Culture policies, procedures, and practices.
- Responds to employee’s benefit questions, assists with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, assists employees with paperwork related to filing medical claims, and processes enrollment forms and change requests, employee verifications.
- Assists with processing bi-weekly payroll as needed.
- Coordinates paperwork related to benefits, 401k retirement plans, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, unemployment and any other benefits.
- Coordinates and monitors recruitment, screening and background checks of personnel.
- Maintains employee relations programs – wellness, birthdays/anniversaries, annual activities/parties, etc.
- Plans and edits employee newsletter.
- Tracks all line staff performance appraisals, onboarding documentation and ensure completion.
- Maintains employee files and ADP database.
- Assists with job postings, reviewing resumes for non-management positions.
- Responsible for submitting monthly training calendar and tracking sign-in sheets.
- Keep record of all employee certifications.
- Schedules and coordinates new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Coordinates new hire paperwork and ensures completion.
- Posts required labor law information.
- Maintains team member bulletin boards to ensure all items are up-to-date and accurate.
- Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word).
- Basic knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
- Ability to make decisions, perform analytical tasks, report writing and problem-solving skills.
- Critical thinking, attention to detail and the flexibility to adapt to change.
- Able to work independently and multi-task, seek answers when help is needed and motivated to seek. out additional tasks for completion.
- Detail oriented, sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong work ethic and team player.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
- 2+ years related experience or a combination of education and experience.
