Become a
Planning Communications & Engagement, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. The Advisor will join a newly established and growing team – Planning Communications and Engagement – dedicated to ensuring two-way communication across our work within Transmission and Distribution’s Planning. You will be responsible for engaging, aligning, and inspiring employees with our vision and strategies while providing leaders with the tools to help all employees understand their role in driving the success of SCE. To be effective, you must know how to identify and tell stories that make concepts like vision, strategy, and organizational priorities come to life in a relevant and memorable way. You will advise on the long-term communications and engagement strategy and lead subsequent development and implementation of key initiatives.
What are we looking for in an Advisor? Someone who can balance both strategic and tactical communications and engagement work. You will be responsible for keeping leadership and employees informed on key issues to drive success and share knowledge across the organization. You will understand where the communication and engagement gaps are and develop a plan to address them. At the same time, you will need to be able to set up and manage systems and processes to promote effective communications.

- The Planning Communications & Engagement, Advisor position will manage projects, programs, and assignments that focus on continuous improvement to the T&D Planning community multi-discipline groups including; Local Planning, Technical Planning, New Development Planning (NDP), Transmission & Telecom Planning
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders and conduct frequent check-ins to stay connected to the pulse of T&D Planning and DS&P initiatives
- Create and disseminate content across multiple internal platforms, including newsletter, mass emails, Portal, among others
- Apply communications judgment to ensure the right employee communications are crafted and distributed to the most appropriate employee group/segment
- Serves as a primary conduit and build the engagement between Design Strategies & Performance (DS&P), T&D Planning teams, and T&D Communication teams
- Manage projects from the point of defining the project scope, objective, to developing, maintaining, communicating, implementing, and sustaining project plan solution
- Serve as lead amongst team and collaborates effectively with team to develop and assign content material for meeting forums and initiatives
- Lead and support Planning meeting facilitation including maintaining meeting charters, roles, and responsibilities, team roosters, after-meeting summaries, and continued engagement across the teams
- Meetings & forums include: Planning Appreciation Week, Planning Appreciation Page, Planning Safety Work Environment Congress (SWEC), Morale Team, Planning for Our Future (P4OF), Planning Team Leadership Forum (PTLC), and Leaders Engaged in Safety Conversations (LESC)
- Coordinate and maintain Editorial calendar, existing or new resource centers in SharePoint, and MS platforms across PC&E and T&D Planning forums
- Implement and establish processes to maintain key communication metrics and measurement for effectiveness across T&D Planning
- Prepare leaders, managers, project teams on delivering communications in anticipating of Livestreams, Townhalls, and other forums across T&D.
- Provide recommendations and improvement opportunities to develop and mature T&D Planning initiatives and communications
Qualifications
The Essentials
- Seven years of communications or organizational development experience
- MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
The Preferred
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree
- Project and/or Program Management Certification
- Familiar with MS Applications; such as Forms, Publisher, Project, Streams, MS Teams and SharePoint
- Ability to work well as a team member, in a team environment, and be able to collaborate with peers, clients, management, and other organizations.
- Experience with marketing tools (Canva, PowToon, InDesign)
- Experience with Lotus Notes ERP Distribution Automation or comparable tool (set up, testing, and executing large scale emails)
- Writing and editing experience
- Planning experience is desired
- Knowledge of DSU & DSN is desired
- Experience developing and delivering presentations for employees and leadership
- Strong interpersonal, planning and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Experience with communication channels and engagement with large group settings
- Ability to integrate work across related areas, develop the business and services to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency and provide excellent service to internal and external customers
- Experience planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple assignments concurrently.

- The position’s work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Hiring organizations can add further requirements related to specific jobs.
