The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking a Summer Associate or Intern for our Digital team within the Communications, Policy & Advocacy team.

Program Details
- This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
- A cover letter is required.
- The 2023 summer program will run 11 weeks from June – August 2023.
- This position will be based in New York City with either a hybrid or fully remote schedule. Students engaged in fully remote work must be based in the United States.
Pay Range: $25 - $35 hourly rate. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience. This is a non-exempt position and thus eligible for overtime pay.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Help project-manage content ideas through the editorial end-to-end process, from review to production and promotion
- Draft social copy for the editorial calendar
- Digital analytics, helping pull monthly metrics for web, social, and email
- Social listening on the Netbase platform, helping to identify qualitative results for key campaigns
- Light-lift graphic design for digital platforms, including web pages and social media posts
- Assist in drafting monthly external newsletter content
- Support the digital team with on-the-ground content capture during Foundation events and convenings
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress. Familiarity with HTML is a plus
- Knowledge of major social media channels and current standard processes (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Experience or interest in creative writing and copy editing
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in one of the following areas: business, communications, public policy, government, international development, or a related field.
- Interest or experience working in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities; able to synthesize large volumes of research and data to guide strategy.
- Proven track record of collaboration and interest in how philanthropic organizations create and implement strategies working alongside partners
- Previous work experience in the nonprofit sector, consulting, research, communications, or business-related field preferred)
- Must be a proactive self-starter.
- Committed to the mission of the Foundation.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
