About The Role
As the Product Development Associate you will be responsible for assisting the product development team on executing all aspects of the product development and launch processes for ongoing new product development, as well as portfolio maintenance. The ideal candidate would be an individual that maintains a high level of organization, strong attention to detail, demonstrates strong communication skills, thrives in high-paced environments, and has a passion for cosmetics. Curiosity and willingness to learn are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct preliminary market research for product concepting on new product launches and identify benchmarks
- Coordinate and track product submissions from vendors, as well as gather internal feedback to provide follow up responses
- Build a network of ingredient suppliers and an internal ingredient library
- Coordinate product testing sample receipt and result disposition
- Liase with Regulatory for formula and ingredient evaluation, document compilation and track product registration process. Coordinate testing for safety and clinicals.
- Ensure product development record keeping is organized and accurate
- Assist with the artwork process to proof and ensure proper routing and completion
- Perform other assigned projects and functions as directed by management
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, with Advanced degree or education in cosmetics a plus.
- 2-3+ years of experience in a Product Development role in the beauty industry.
- Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Self-directed with an excellent work ethic and must be organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful.
- Must be an excellent team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task, establish priorities and yet be flexible in our ever-changing environment

FAQ
- Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 base salary + Equity. Please note that this range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for the Los Angeles, CA based position. Goop, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay the position within this salary range. Goop provides the salary range in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, training, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
