Position: Public Relations Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Communications
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Public Relations Coordinator plays a key role in the public relations efforts of the USPTA including the creation and implementation of campaigns that promote the association’s mission.
Essential Functions
· Serve as primary staff writer, including speeches, press releases, feature stories and editorial content.
· Serve as primary editor for the association’s ADDvantage monthly magazine.
· Manage press release distribution.
· Maintain the newsroom and ADDvantage Magazine sections of the USPTA website.
· Prepare and distribute weekly membership e-newsletter.
· Develop content, maintain and enhance social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.
· Annual conference tasks to include but not limited to: trade show liaison, conference App updates and push notifications, social media posts, signage, conference program creation to include bios of speakers, daily event schedule etc.
· Build and maintain relationships with tennis media, including print, online and television.
Support USPTA staff as needed.

Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, public relations or related field
· Minimum 2-5 years of public relations or communications experience
· Exceptional knowledge of public relations/communications strategies
· Advanced computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Skilled in all forms of social media
· Knowledge/experience using AP style guides
· Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Preferred Experience
· Tennis playing/coaching experience
· Database Management
Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
