Markets Cincinnati Works to current and prospective investors to cultivate relationships and increase overall number and amount of donations. Markets Cincinnati Works to current and prospective employers to cultivate relationships and increase the number of employers and job opportunities. Increases broad community awareness of Cincinnati Works programs through varied marketing strategies and channels. This role will work closely with Director of Recruiting where marketing efforts to Members overlap and need to be coordinated. This position will also play a coordination role for fundraising campaigns targeted to “annual giving” donors.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
MARKETING/COMMUNICATION PLANNING
- Working with internal staff to identify marketing needs and messages for each audience
- Research, measure and build market awareness
- Develop realistic marketing strategies, objectives, goals and measures for each audience
- Estimate marketing budget requirements; rework marketing plans as needed to adapt to budget availability
- Develop marketing schedules and assignments
MARKETING/COMMUNICATION PLAN EXECUTION
- Write, design, and publish newsletter communications to each audience
- Write, design, and publish annual impact report
- Coordinate mailing lists for all non-Member mailings and Member mailings as requested
- Manage and maintain website – utilizing a CMS
- Develop and publish content to social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, blogs, etc.)
- Maintain CW content on charity watchdog websites (e.g., Guidestar, Charity Watch, Charity Navigator, etc.)
- Execute other marketing vehicles as defined in the marketing plan
- Analyze the success of marketing campaigns and advertisements
- Stay on top of nonprofit marketing trends and adapt marketing strategy and budget as needed to utilize new/better marketing tools
- Manage vendor relationships – printer, graphic designer, website host, mass email, etc.
MARKETING COLLATERAL
- Develop and maintain brochures, presentations, and letterhead
- Maintain promotional materials inventory; monitor quantities, place orders, verify receipt, maintain storage area
MEDIA RELATIONS
- Write and issue press releases
- Proactively build and manage relationships with various media individuals and outlets
- Respond to media requests; engage appropriate staff as needed; serve as media spokesperson as needed
- Secure media coverage to highlight CW and our programs
FUNDRAISING SUPPORT
- Write, design and publish funding case to support specific fundraising campaigns
- Create and maintain boilerplate text for grant proposals and reports
- Support the annual YP-driven online campaign – write persuasive solicitations, manage promotion of the campaign
- Coordinate writing, production and mailing of annual appeal letters in a persuasive tone
- Manage promotion of grants to appropriate media outlets
AWARNESS & FUNDRAISING EVENTS
- Work with External Relations team to develop event theme, messaging, and logistics
- Develop event signage, invitations, and post-event solicitations – including CSV lists for mail merge and mass email
- Pre- and post-event promotion including securing media coverage
ADMINISTRATIVE/MISCELLANEOUS
- Monitor marketing expenses against budgets; adapt plans accordingly
- Maintain databases as appropriate
- Update professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications, joining professional organizations, etc.
- Other duties as assigned for the effective and smooth operation of Cincinnati Works
Education/Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in writing, social media, and other marketing vehicles
- Demonstrated experience in managing and prioritizing projects and coordinating the activities of multiple team members to complete a project
