WHAT IS DOWNTOWN BOULDER?
The Downtown Boulder Partnership is an umbrella organization for the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) and the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI).
BID: The Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) is a 49-block taxing district approved by property owners to cultivate a cleaner, safer and more vibrant downtown community. The tax is used by the BID to provide maintenance services that supplement those offered by the city, as well as fund a comprehensive consumer marketing program.
Marketing: The BID Marketing Program is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the downtown district. This includes, but is not limited to, promotions, advertising, image campaigns, branding, banners, brochures, printed collateral materials, newsletters, public relations, social media, online efforts and market research.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing and Communications Intern will gain applicable job experience in a fast-paced office environment. This position will allow the intern to develop basic knowledge in website and newsletter editing, graphic design, research and writing, blogging and social media marketing. Downtown Boulder interns are an integral part of a team working on long and short-term projects using multiple skill sets. Intern must be eligible to receive class credit.
QUALIFICATIONS
Interested students must possess:
-Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
-Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving
-Interest in creative writing & blogging
-Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn & TikTok)
-Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
-Attention to detail and ability to multitask
-Eagerness to learn
Preferred areas of study: Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Public Relations and Marketing.
