Content Creator/Digital Media Manager
Part time | 25 hours per week
At Heartland Farm Sanctuary, our mission is to inspire compassion for all beings. We provide specialized care to rescued farm animals, offer inclusive humane education programs for learners of all ages, and provide experiential therapy to ensure the Heartland community is accessible for everyone. How You Will Make a Difference
As Content Creator/Digital Media Manager, you are the sanctuary’s storyteller. You’ll collaborate with Heartland’s animal care and program staff to connect people to our mission – with an emphasis on showcasing our incredible rescued residents and our unique people programs that spark compassion for all, while inspiring audiences to visit, support and engage with our sanctuary. You’ll also support our development, outreach and program efforts by designing engaging graphics, literature and other materials in Heartland’s compassionate brand and tone.
The Content Creator/Digital Media Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and leading a supporter-centric social media strategy for HFS that highlights our program areas and mission of compassion.
- Owning the social media roadmap and creating content, including video.
- Maintaining a daily Communications Calendar that includes social media content, newsletter content, and stand-alone communications.
- Brainstorming, creating and scheduling our monthly Sanctuary Snapshot newsletter, with collaboration from key staff.
- Collaborating with the Executive Director on inspiring and engaging story-driven content.
- Designing and creating content for fundraising appeals (both mail and email).
- Designing graphics, literature and promotional materials as needed.
- Writing press releases and other media communications to promote HFS, special events, new rescues, capital campaign news, etc.

- Be extremely detail-oriented while managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
- Understand, or have the willingness to learn, Heartland’s brand, voice and tone.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Have a willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
- Be eager to work with rescued farm animals and people of all ages.
- Be able to work independently while supporting a larger team effort.

Additional Details
Employment Type: Hourly
Compensation: $17.00-$19.00/hour
Reports to: Executive Director
Bonuses: Unlimited goat and sheep snuggles, plenty of peaceful pasture time with the llamas, and witnessing hilarious antics from ALL our rescued animals.
