Primary Purpose: Manages employee aspects of the human resources cycle to include recruitment, onboarding, professional development, events, and wellness.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Recruitment, Onboarding & Employment:
- Manages recruitment strategies, utilizes the recruitment portal, and manages advertising, job postings, interviewing/screening support for department managers, processing background checks, reference checks, computer testing
- Incorporates inclusive hiring practices.
- Under Director’s guidance, provides training to hiring mangers and committees.
- Responsible for all applicant tracking processes.
- Manages new hire (onboarding) and termination (offboarding) employment processes and ensures completion.
- Prepares for new employee’s first day of
- Manages, organizes, and co-hosts New Employee Orientation (NEO) from the College of Law’s behalf.
- Conducts stay interviews and exit interviews.
Employee Engagement & Development - Serves on the Employee Professional Development Committee and leads the coordination of employee training programs (Stetson Experience Lab, workshops, SkillPath, etc.) under the guidance of the HR Director.
- Training and professional development offerings across campuses virtually.
- Serves on the Employee Celebrations Committee and Graduation Planning Committee; assists with employee events and functions (including Health Fair, Employee Appreciation & Recognition, Thanksgiving, Holiday Luncheon, Wellness efforts, etc.).
- Design and maintain wellness incentives program for the employee
- Creates calendar for employee professional development opportunities.
- Collaborates with the Director for Events and Tampa Law Center with various events and commencement, as needed.
- Coordination of wellness initiatives in conjunction with HR Generalist.
- Design and maintain wellness incentives program for the employee community.
- Coordination and leading Stetson's walking group.
- Planning of bi-monthly lunch ‘n learns for various wellness topics.
- Manages the planning, preparation, and drafting of the employee newsletter.
- Assists in annual preparations and updating of Hurricane Preparedness materials.
- Updates HR bulletin boards.
HR Services
- Assists with updating departmental procedures.
- Responsible for document imaging (scanning), filing.
- Cross-training, as necessary.
- HR project work, as assigned.
- Ensures integrity of all files and secures confidential files.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality.
- Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others.
- Other assignments assigned by Director.
Required Skills
B.A. degree required. 2 to 4 years’ experience in Human Resources, recruitment, or transferrable field. PHR certification preferred. In lieu of degree, consideration for years of experience in an education environment, or satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.
Must be a self-starter, who works well in a fast-paced environment. Has the ability to maintain a consistent, dependable, and regular work schedule. Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to HR services are necessary and strong written and oral communication skills are required. With a positive demeanor, works as a HR team member, functioning under timelines and being responsive. Flexibility, multi-tasking, excellent judgment, and follow-through are required. Must have attention to details and proofreading. Great people skills and professionalism are necessary. Establish and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
