The Marketing Specialist is responsible for providing overall support to the Marketing Department. They will execute and assist with the creation of client proposals, presentations, advertisements, and other marketing materials needed for marketing, execute social media efforts and the creation and implementation of marketing initiatives, assist with signage, and website upkeep. They will report to the Marketing Manager, and the position will be based in Thornton’s Miami Headquarters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Marketing Proposals and Presentations
o Coordinate the production of responses to RFQs, RFPs, award and affiliation applications. Includes research, writing, page layout, binding of proposals, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Ensure deadlines are met and the various aspects of proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
- Coordinate appropriate marketing material for client meetings
- Execute and assist the creation of various advertisements for client sponsorship and other marketing materials needed
· Social Media Efforts
- Execute social media efforts including:
- Quarterly meetings with Marketing Manager and Executive Vice President to present upcoming quarter posts and social media goals as well as previous quarter analytics
- Creation and execution of monthly social media posts and captions
- Creation and implementation of marketing initiatives to be highlighted on all social media platforms
- Events
- Assist with the coordination of tradeshow and client events
- Create and execute new innovative events Thornton can offer to clients
- Communications
- Create and execute the quarterly internal Thornton Scoop Newsletter
- Create and execute monthly external email blasts
- Assist with other external and internal communications as needed
- Business Development Efforts
- Assist the Business Unit Leaders with Business Development efforts including:
- Assist with new leads and potential client meetings
- Research current and potential clients and markets
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in the fields of Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- 2-4 years relevant AEC professional experience
- Knowledge of construction industry and RFQ process
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent writing and proof-reading skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines at once
