Job Description Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Aerospace Engineering (AE) at the Daytona Beach campus. Responsibilities include:
- Assist Department Chair: Responsible for purchasing and administration of multiple budgets, including reporting, submitting receipts, and processing transfer of funds requests and reimbursements.
- Assist in department operations: Schedule meetings and reserve rooms; attend and assist with department functions including orientation, open house, IAB, homecoming, colloquiums, faculty/staff meetings, and graduation and department visitors; assist faculty and students with travel arrangements; copy and collate confidential material for faculty and Department Chair; coordinate website updates with IT; update/edit AE newsletter & other informational AE material; and maintain office supplies/AE printed material and order as needed.
- Communication: Answering telephone and directing questions to appropriate person(s); interacting with the student body, faculty, and outside industries; and contacting IT and Physical Plant as needed for faculty.
- Office duties: Including but not limited to maintaining records of courses and textbooks for department; filing forms for student employees; supervising and training student workers; and managing suite, office, and lab access (keys and ID cards). Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communication, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related administrative work experience.
- Strong technical skills including experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and willingness to learn new software.
- Budget management experience.
- Excellent people skills and verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
