Women In Film advocates for and advances the careers of women working in the screen industries--to achieve parity and transform culture. Founded in 1973, WIF supports all women working in film, television and digital media, from emerging to advanced career, focusing on advocacy and education, and working to preserve the legacies of all women working in the entertainment community.
About the Position
The full-time Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the Marketing and Communications department in overall messaging for the organization. They will assist with marketing and communications needs in all owned media campaigns, social media content, community management, and metrics reporting. This position will report to the Communications Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with Communications Manager to execute annual social, web, and newsletter strategies, maintaining unified brand voice across all owned channels
- Support department in administrative operations including scheduling, meeting agendas, note-taking, and task management software
- Undertake community management with followers on social media
- Work with internal departments to execute social media, website, and email outreach
- Create graphics, video, and copy for posting on social media and in other communications
- Report upon key social, newsletter, and website analytics
- Work special events as needed
- Stay up to date on entertainment industry news and social media trends
- Supervise interns
- Undertake projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience working in a communications/marketing position, and/or studio/agency or production position, and familiarity and interest with the entertainment landscape.
- Fluency in social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube) and familiarity with social media scheduling and reporting software.
- Familiarity with MailChimp, Wordpress, G-Suite, video editing, and task management software (i.e. Monday.com).
- Experience creating web and social media images using Canva (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign experience a plus.)
- Exceptional written communication skills; ability to write short, engaging marketing copy with correct spelling and grammar.
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask and respond to changing priorities.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, including attention to detail while not losing sight of the big picture.
- Ability to take initiative, be creative, work well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours in order to participate in occasional evening or weekend meetings and events.
- A genuine interest in WIF’s mission, a commitment to its values, and the ability to articulate them to a wide audience, as well as a general understanding of the entertainment industry.
This is a full-time/non-exempt position, Monday through Friday, though weeknight and weekend hours may be required.
Hiring range: $22.50 – $25/hr, depending on experience.
