Our Client a well known University is seeking a Development Associate
The Development Associate, Ophthalmology, will work in the Department of Ophthalmology with the Executive Director of Development. She/he will be responsible for: scheduling appointments, meetings (with follow up preparation of agenda and notification to participants); writing and coordinating the production of donor reports, solicitation letters, thank you letters, and special acknowledgment letters; drafting own correspondence for review by supervisors; processing gift transmittals, assisting with prospect research and proposal development. The incumbent will serve as a local expert for other staff. The incumbent will work to standardize and improve common business practices across the department. The incumbent will coordinate and manage database entry and maintain donor lists including assurance of data base accuracy; maintain files and database portfolio; interact with internal and external constituencies; assist with vendor and site inquiry for special events as well as organize and coordinate events including semi-annual board of advisors meetings and divisional seminars for donors; troubleshoot when necessary; assist on the semi-annual newsletter including handling
and coordinating needed photographs and proofreading; perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
Writing and coordinating the production of donor reports, thank you letters, solicitation letters, gift transmittals and special acknowledgment letters. – 30%
Assisting with prospect research and proposal development; coordinating and managing database entry; interact with internal and external constituencies. – 20%
Maintaining donor lists, including assurance of data base accuracy; maintain files and database portfolio. – 15%
Scheduling appointments and meetings, including preparation of agenda, notification to participants, and appropriate follow up. – 10%
Assist with vendor and site inquiry for special events as well as organize and coordinate events, including volunteer committee meetings. – 10%
Lead, teach, and assist other staff with various VP&S, CUIMC, and CU Development fundraising and related policies and tasks; standardize and improve business practices across the department. – 10%
Troubleshoot and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. – 5%
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.

Be able to lead and teach peers; identify and improve common day to day tasks with peers. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Be able to accurately handle diverse projects and a large volume of detailed work simultaneously, and use good judgment in
prioritizing work. Demonstrate the ability to work with management information systems and software systems. Superior Excel, MS Office skills, and advanced SharePoint user experience and Advance (or similar fundraising database) experience required.
