Job Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of our integrated marketing and communications plan to advance our organization's storytelling, movement building, and narrative change objectives. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can assist in executing marketing activities, maintaining brand consistency, and facilitating effective communication across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrated Marketing Support: Assist in the execution and implementation of the integrated marketing and communications plan aligned with our organization's objectives. Contribute to ensuring that the plan is clear, compelling, timely, and motivates action while describing a clear and present need.
- Branding and Collateral: Support the maintenance of consistent branding across all platforms and media tools. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager in preparing presentations, developing content, and reviewing documents for brand compliance. Assist in the development, design, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral.
- Social Media Management: Contribute to the management of social media platforms, including content creation and scheduling. Collaborate with the team to identify engaging online content, monitor trends, and promote impactful reports and stories. Assist in coordinating website updates and contribute to e-newsletter development.
- Public Relations Support: Support public relations efforts, including monitoring industry trends, conducting research, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives. Assist in preparing press releases, materials, and responses to media requests. Contribute to tracking and reporting on media influence and collecting testimonials and impact stories.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the development and execution of the annual work plan for integrated marketing and communications. Contribute to maintaining brand consistency and messaging throughout the organization. Participate in marketing content meetings, contribute to the editorial calendar, and support the creation of the GMEN Top Ten bi-weekly Newsletter.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and digital marketing platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Familiarity with public relations practices and media relations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Creative thinker with a passion for community empowerment.
- Knowledge of community wealth building or micro and small businesses is a plus.
