The Orion program is seeking a Business Specialist to join our mission!
Across our business, we are implementing business transformation at an accelerated rate, generating the need to ensure consistent and sustained tempo of analysis and communication across the program. Customers are continually looking for faster insights, while keeping prices competitive. Unlocking our data to drive specific information for decisions is the key that requires effective analysis of feedback, training, and knowledge continuity, as well as consistent communications. At its core, business transformation means documenting our operational con-ops, staying current with feedback from our team, leadership and customers to implement continuous improvement, developing training materials and holding ourselves accountable to meeting our commitment through actions and deliverables. Integrating our business transformation initiatives through metric generation, report distribution and team training and development will position Orion for a legacy that spans generations.
Role
The successful candidate for the Orion Business Specialist will play a key role within the Program Management Office by performing the following tasks
- Drive collaboration across the program by creating, administering, and analyzing Orion program surveys, providing recommendations for program-wide implementation of new initiatives supporting employee engagement and enhanced communication.
- Capture and Track team commitments through the Orion program action item (AI) database. Own the AI process and ensure visibility to the leadership team to ensure timely closure.
- Integrate and distribute Orion Decision report to ensure timely cross program awareness of decisions that are made within the various review boards to reduce the demand for team members’ meeting attendance (e.g. PDBs, ERBs, FRBs, etc)
- Manage, optimize, and continue to improve Accelerating Exploration Culture Transformation workshops to ensure total program team knowledge of the program transition to production and sustainment operations. Maintain continuity of instructors and support total program workshop series completion.
- Create and publish bi-weekly program wide newsletter, “Orion Connect”, communicating program transition initiatives, employee engagement activities, and significant program accomplishments at a minimum.
- Analyze data, create and sustain metrics and dashboard and ensure Orion Sharepoint information is kept up to date with respect to assigned activities. (e.g. Training Performance Dashboard)
- In addition to the primary key tasks above; support various employee-based projects: LM Intern activities, Young Minds at Work (YMAW) activities, [what does SIA stand for?] SIA workshops for transformation, staffing events, training modules for onboarding new staff, Onboarding “Bootcamp”, Orion Personnel Immersive iNitiative (OPIN) Cohorts, Leadership offsites and employee socials (e.g. BRGs: Gravity, WIN, etc)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business related area
- Proven success in creating, implementing, and sustaining business processes
- Proven success with survey creation and feedback analysis
- Proven success with database management to include excel spreadsheet manipulation and metric creation
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven success with implementing training and education processes
Desired Skills
- Functional knowledge of communication platforms like Zoom productions
- Experience driving continuous improvement and common process across diverse stakeholders
- Outstanding ability to partner and work effectively with key stakeholders
- Digital Transformation and modernization knowledge and/or experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $61,300 - $117,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
