ABANA is seeking Communications & Event Planning intern to assist with operations related to planning the robust calendar of the association. We are looking for a proactive, driven, problem-solving intern that is interested in learning about all aspects of non-profit communications. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Help execute outreach strategy related to membership
• Support event planning
• Support existing programming of events
• Assist in producing branding and marketing materials to promote ABANA programming and other initiatives
• Work to maximize the reach and impact of current events
• Support the maintenance of partnerships with other non-profit organizations, think tanks and institutions with interest in the MENA region
• Help manage and expand ABANA’s social media accounts
• Support the production of ABANA’s newsletter
• Help with website management
• Work closely with ABANA staff members
• Support the ABANA Fellowship
• Contribute as needed! ABANA has a small, collaborative team that works together closely and, as required, pitches in to help in areas beyond their specific position description
Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Experience with Twitter, LinkedIn (and Instagram)
• Ability to design with Canva, Adobe is a plus (Photoshop, and Illustrator)
• Experience in web development and web content creation
• Familiarity with WordPress and SEOs is a plus
• Capability to edit videos is desirable (using Adobe Premiere is a plus)
• Interest in the financial sectors in North America and the Middle East-North Africa regions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
