Investor and Corporate Communications Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Internal and External Communications, the Senior Communications Specialist (Investor & Corporate Communications) will work cross-functionally with Communications, Finance, Marketing and other organizations to develop and execute internal and external financial communications strategies for the client, the industry-leading provider of proprietary advanced nuclear small modular reactor (“SMR”) technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Working closely with Finance and Investor Relations to develop and support financial communication strategies in-line with the company’s business and operational strategy and objectives.
•Support financial messaging and content development for all channels (investor relations communications, marketing materials, social media, email newsletter, annual reports, sustainability reports, etc.).
•Partner closely with the Investor Relations to support the quarterly earnings process, the execution of senior executive level briefing materials, scripting/messaging for internal and external keynotes, media interviews, blogs, presentations, investor day content, peer monitoring, and advise executive leadership on a variety of complex company issues.
•Lead media relations specific to financial communications (media pitching, press releases, letters to the editor, opinion pieces, press and other events, etc.).
•Work with the Brand, Marketing and Advertising team on marketing and outreach programs to the investor community (shareholders, analysts and institutions).
•Support internal communication strategy for updating all employees on external financial messaging (town hall meetings, etc.).
•Travel may be required for events and meetings (15-20%).
•Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
•Education: A Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field is required from an accredited college or university. Advanced degree is preferred.
•Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of full-time, directly applicable experience with corporate communications in investor relations or related area is required, with at least 1 year of experience in investor communications within a Public Company or at an investment firm interacting regularly with a Public Company's investment relations team. Additional required experience is indicated below:
o Experience in financial and investor relations or investor facing communications.
o Understanding of financial statements, metrics/valuation analysis and financial modeling, strong attention to detail and ability to present to investors and senior leadership.
o Experience building external communication strategic plans, including media relations, public relations, events, social media, and other communication channels.
o Proficiency in developing sharp, convincing messages for diverse audiences on complex matters, sometimes with significant scientific content.
o A strong track record working with the media to position an organization in a competitive communications environment.
o Ability to work independently, be self-driven and maintain communications with management and staff while working from various locations.
o Experience and knowledge of the energy industry is not required, but preferred.
•Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

•Quality Assurance: Demonstrates understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
