Founded in 1974, originally under the name Special Audiences, Inc. and later rebranded as VSA Arts of Georgia as an affiliate of the International VSA Arts Network, Arts InCommunity has a long history of making arts and culture accessible for individuals with disabilities, low-income/at-risk youth, veterans, among other underserved communities in Georgia and regionally in the Southeast.
Position Summary
Arts InCommunity (AIC) seeks a self-motivated and highly organized Arts InCommunity Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and operations of programs focused on access and opportunity to arts and culture for underserved communities. The AIC Coordinator will report to Arts InCommunity Director and provide support through a range of tasks and projects including our Community Events Program which is an open access program for underserved communities to participate and experience museums, performing arts, festivals, major/minor league sports; support development and implementation of accessibility support workshops, trainings, and assessments for arts & cultural institutions and businesses; and assistance with various special projects, events, and initiatives for AIC and InCommunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordination for Community Events Program
- Maintain ticket request portal, distribution of tickets, reservations, and special events.
- Tracking and coordination of membership database, software application, materials, and brochures.
- Regular virtual and in-person meetings with current Arts InCommunity partners and members.
- Maintain correspondence regarding request cancellations, rescheduling, and reminders.
- Coordinate and maintain distribution of electronic tickets and physical tickets through volunteers.
- Assisting with the cultivation of new strategic partnerships and strengthening of current partnerships.
- Assisting with growth of programming and organization participants.
- Accessibility Services
- Assisting with the development and implementation of accessibility support. services including virtual workshops, trainings, and assessments for nonprofits & for-profits.
- Assisting with the development of materials and content for accessibility services.
- Assisting with the implementation of marketing for accessibility services to a network of arts and cultural organizations, nonprofits, and for-profit businesses.
- General
- Provide support with special projects and initiatives as directed.
- Maintain website updates, weekly newsletter, social media accounts.
- Schedule and support meetings for AIC advisory council; support cultivation of members; work collaboratively with director and council for support of AIC mission, fundraising, and access advising.
- Interact with the arts and cultural communities and civic bodies as an advocate for AIC and accessibility and inclusion for all.
- Providing support in meetings with partnering organizations and supporters.
- Provide support for AIC’s presence at events, conferences, and other related activities as needed. Travel will be compensated.
- Provide support for development and community relations events as directed by Arts InCommunity Director.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and 2 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
