Job Description: Digital Marketing Manager / American Weed Co.

Salary Range: $70k-$75k + bonus based on performance
Position Summary: American Weed Co. is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Digital Marketing Manager based in Los Angeles who is passionate about our mission to legalize weed for veterans nationwide and all things MARTECH.
Candidate must be dedicated to promoting our brand, mission and delivering exceptional experiences to all individuals who come into contact with our brand and products online or digitally in store or in any capacity.
The Marketing Manager will oversee our entire digital ecosystem, including digital marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, websites, and influencer campaigns; oversee and direct third party marketing agencies, supervise a graphic designer, and handle all digital platform ad spends on Weedmaps, Leafly, iHeartJane as well as Meta, Google Adwords, etc. leveraging the power of data in order to maximize ad efficiency and effectiveness in a VERY difficult industry to digitally advertise.
Manager will boost brand awareness and support sell-through for our retail partners, developing a robust Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard to track advertising spends up and down the entire marketing funnel.
This is a full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Marketing: Develop and grow digital marketing channel ecosystem including : social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.); email/newsletter lists, SMS/mobile and Shopify websites; and 3rd party platforms like Weedmaps, iHeartJane, and Leafly.
- Social Media Marketing: Oversee budgeting, strategy and execution of 3rd party social media agency to include content management, scheduling, coordination with influencers, UGC and more to maximize spend.
- Influencer Marketing: Oversee strategy and execution of 3rd party social media agency to include budgeting, talent selection, content management, scheduling, coordination with influencers, UGC and more to maximize spend.
- Retail Ecommerce: Lead Weedmaps, Leafly, iHeartJane relationships, budgeting, execution and measurement.
- Social/Search Advertising: Lead Meta, Google Adwords, and other ad spends.
- Google Analytics: Lead Google Analytics measurement to identify trends and opportunities for investment.
- Website/Shopify: Lead Shopify Analytics measurement to identify trends and opportunities for investment.
- Partner Marketing: Support Partner Marketing via a variety of retail activations to increase brand awareness and promote American Weed Co. products with regional Trade Marketing Specialists (TMS, NorCal and SoCal).
- Graphic Design: Supervise full-time graphic designer to ensure all digital asset requirements for in-store staff trainings, dispensary events, community gatherings, lifestyle pop-ups, curated brand events, and festival participation are met on time, with high quality within brand guidelines.
- Budtender Programs: Co-lead Sparkplug budtender incentive program along with Ops Manager.
- Effective Communication: Articulate brand talking points clearly in all digital formats to consumers, retail partners, staff, 3rd party partners, ensuring the message is effectively conveyed.
- Community and Dispensary Partnerships: Identify digital opportunities to drive sell-through and foot traffic to retail to purchase our products given the tight restrictions around digital advertising.
- Reporting and Compliance: Complete weekly reports, expense reports (if applicable).
- Training and Meetings: Attend initial and ongoing monthly product training sessions, team meetings, and client training sessions.
- Storage and Asset Management: Maintain organization and cleanliness of online storage space (Google Drive), social media channels, team slack channels, etc.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the VP of Brand & Sales Strategy to support brand objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Reside within the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to travel within California at a moment’s notice.
- Preferred minimum of 3 years equivalent work experience or some college education.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years experience in digital marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and mobile marketing within the cannabis or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
- Graphic Design Skills: Expert to moderate ability and familiarity with Canva and/or Adobe.
- Availability: Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete detailed weekly digital marketing reports.
- Technological Skills: Excellent MARTECH skills and knowledge.
- Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable interacting with partners, management, clients, and consumers in various settings.
- Organizational Skills: Extreme attention to detail needed, with familiarity of Asana project management and other task tracking systems like Monday.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Natural problem-solving ability and strong people skills.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene.
- Self-Sufficiency: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of working online for an entire shift.
- Physical Ability: Must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving items.
