Position Summary
Recognizing the dignity of all of creation, the Center for the Common Good works with students, alumni, community partners, and campus collaborators to promote the formation of justice-oriented people who serve with our local and global partners and who advocate for systems that advance the Common Good.
The Program Coordinator is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Director of the Center for the Common Good and will coordinate comprehensive services to ensure this mission is lived out. The Program Coordinator provides support and coordination of the various Center activities and communications including scheduling of spaces, procurement, meeting logistic, general office management, and program support.
Overall, the Coordinator will be responsible for making sure the office’s general operations run smoothly: ensuring that visitors are welcome, communications are timely and professional, office and event space is maintained well, and programs are coordinated.

Duties And Responsibilities
35% Community Partnerships and Outreach Support:
- Work with the team of staff and students to build and maintain positive reciprocal relationships with community partners and service sites.
- Cooperate with other University offices offering service programs in the local community
- Manage the State Mandated Clearances and other requirements of service programs
- Maintain statistical data on volunteers
- Coordinate the transportation to and from sites with the use of campus vehicles
25% Office Management
- Manage the daily operations and organization of the Center. Attend and actively participate in Staff and Team meetings
- Attend professional, retreat, evaluation, and planning meetings
- Maintain regular office hours
- Maintain records of purchasing card purchases and submit expense reports using Concur
- Track monthly expenses of the Center
- Process reimbursements
- Process student worker payroll records
- Maintain any Center-wide professional memberships
- Make large purchases for department (capital equipment, etc.)
- Manage all new student-worker and graduate students hires
- Update various calendars with Center events and programs
20% Communications
- Facilitate effective interactions between the Center and university colleges and administrative units.
- Maintain the Center’s website using the university’s AEM platform.
- Coordinate the Center’s communications, including email, newsletter, print, social media, and other timely forms of communication.
- Monitor the Center’s general email account
15% Event Planning
- Serve as Center liaison to the Event Coordinators Network on campus
- Help organize and offer logistical support (reserve rooms, work with catering, arrange speaker travel/lodging, etc.) for Center events
5% Non-Essential Job Functions
- Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience
- 1-2 years relevant experience in program coordination
Work Skills: (e.g., written and verbal communication skills)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Superb organizational skills.
- Good decision-making instincts and track record.
- Skills in group dynamics and proficient in working in collaborative environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must have the ability to handle sensitive material and information confidentially.
- Ability to relate and work with diverse groups within the community
Equipment Knowledge
- Competency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Teams and Forms.
- Must have the ability and desire to learn software and reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Formal Education
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Work Experience
- Administrative experience in higher education or related field.
- Previous experience in communications, website design, and financial systems knowledge highly desirable.
Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills)
- Data management and analysis skills preferred.
- Program facilitation preferred.
Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area)
- Understanding of Catholic Social Teaching
- Experience with Community Engaged Partnerships
- Familiarity with the Development of College Student

quipment Knowledge
- Knowledge of university administrative platforms (e.g. Banner, Concur), survey software (e.g., Qualtrics), databases, and website design (e.g., AEM ).
- Competency and comfort in working with social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Snapchat
Physical Requirements And/or Unusual Work Hours
May include some evening and weekend requirements. Often includes sitting for extended periods of time.
