We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our self-protection and self-defense business. This remote part-time position will start as a temporary contract role with growth potential. This Florida-based woman-owned business promotes responsible firearms ownership, gear and situational awareness via social media and other partnership avenues. Duties include creation and management of monthly newsletter campaigns, image and written content creation, event coordination assistance, market research and tracking, and activities to secure partnership opportunities.
This position is responsible for all marketing efforts related to increasing the brand awareness through newsletter distribution, online exposure, partnerships as well as grow the database of training students. The ideal candidate will hit the ground running and offer immediate impact to the goals.
Create and manage a monthly newsletter
Research partnership opportunities and devise a strategy to manage the engagement through securing deals
Grow database of training student
Manage projects from conception to execution using defined goals
Create, initiate and manage a marketing plan
Develop and maintain a corporate social media presence
Creatively brainstorm social media efforts to increase brand awareness, convert prospects into partnership opportunities
Write content for newsletter and blog
Help update content across website and other platforms
Create flyers, ads, and other print and electronic marketing
Assist in improvement efforts of online presence to increase marketability of websites and social platforms
Participate in weekly huddle call
Provide weekly project status report
Training branch (This is a training subsidiary of the business)
Identify events and engage with contacts on speaking opportunities to promote training services
Assist in tracking prospects to convert into students
Comfortable with developing content related to firearms and other self-defense tools.
Highly organized to develop and manage marketing efforts.
Minimum three years of prior-related work experience.
Strong work ethic and pleasant, friendly demeanor.
Familiarity with MS Office 365 including Teams, as well as Constant Contact and Canva Pro.
Experience in researching and identifying target audience (brand sponsorship & partnership opportunities).
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Ability to work on tight deadlines, manage projects, communicate effectively, and collaborate with internal team, customers, prospects and business contacts are keys to the success of this position.
This is a part-time contract position that will not exceed 10 working hours per week, unless initiated by business and mutually agreed (hourly rate would apply). While this is a part-time contract role, this role may be expanded for the right candidate. There is no additional compensation or benefits including base salary compensation, insurance, unemployment insurance or any other benefits.
Location: Remote. Local candidates may meet in-person once per month.
Pay rate: $200 per week (minimum 10 hours per week at $20 hr). This is a fixed initial pay rate, may be eligible for an increase after 90 days (based upon goals met). Payment is based upon weekly status report supplied documenting the aligned work performed during the week.
