Job Summary
Responsible for developing and executing FH’s internal communication strategy in line with the global strategy, change management best practices, and Heartbeat culture, while ensuring a “corporate voice” permeates messaging. Works closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to brainstorm, plan and execute various internal and change communication projects and campaigns. Keeps our Heartbeat culture at the forefront of messaging to ensure a consistent voice and organizational alignment, while facilitating a meaningful flow of information and stories to uphold FH’s value proposition and support the global strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
- Work as a strategic partner with executive leadership, U.S. operations, and country offices to communicate organizational priorities and inspire FH’s workforce with compelling messaging and media products.
- Partner with stakeholders across FH to design change-oriented communication campaigns as part of broader change enrollment plans for the organization.
- Act as a key contributor to FH’s new strategic direction, or ReImagination, by designing and executing specific campaigns with effective measurements. This includes strategic communications development for the CEO and executive leadership.
- Assist leadership by supporting critical messaging for internal stakeholders and leverage two-way communication between staff and leadership, creating related content such as articles, email messages, talking points, and presentations.
- Owns FH’s signature internal communications products—the FH Connect intranet and bi-weekly newsletter—and ensures proper usage of the internal “ReIMAGINE FH” brand.
- Works across the organization to edit and enhance internal communication standards and materials, such as newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, and speeches delivering a holistic view of FH, while keeping staff informed and invested in the purpose of FH.
- Serve as an advisor to internal departments, helping staff to determine what external information should be distributed via internal channels.
- Collects data to evaluate the impact of communication strategies and works with stakeholders to determine how the data will influence the focus and direction of future strategies.
- Promote learning events, development programs, media coverage, and ways for staff to get involved in building culture across a global organization.
- Plan, facilitate, and coordinate monthly and quarterly staff meetings on strategic priorities.

Job Level Specifications
- Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian commitment to serving the poor and in full agreement with FH’s Christian beliefs.
- Demonstrated computer-operating skills, including proficiency in Google platforms, Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint for top quality deliverables, and virtual technologies such as Skype and/or Zoom.
- Experienced in the use of modern technology to facilitate internal and strategic change communications.
- Ability to sit/stand at a computer for up to 8 hours a day doing repetitive motions on a keyboard.
- Skilled in business writing, storytelling, articles, speechwriting, strategic change communications, as well as campaign design, execution, and project management.
- Has a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the global organization supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
- Thrives in bringing structure amidst highly complex and ambiguous situations.
- Develop professional expertise; apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Build productive internal/external working relationships.
- Receive moderate level of instruction and guidance for routine work. May receive more detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in supporting executive-level internal and/or change communications campaigns.
- At least 1 year of project management experience is required.
- Prior experience in a global organization and multilingual experience preferred.
- Non-profit ministry experience is a plus.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
