Position Summary

As a Communications Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our project-related strategic communication activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Thought Leadership, you will contribute to designing, editing, and creating project reports and communication channels from both external and internal perspectives. Embracing a focus on racial equity, you'll thrive within our multidimensional, collaborative teams that are dedicated to making a difference.

Position Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience in liberal arts, communication, marketing, journalism, or a related field; a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience preferred.

Proficiency in writing across various platforms, including websites, social media, and news releases, as well as managing social media content and web design.

Experience in nonprofit or client services settings is desirable.

Strong writing skills with an emphasis on clarity, conciseness, and adherence to style guidelines, including excellent copyediting and proofreading abilities.

Dedication to promoting racially equitable policies and practices in communications and marketing efforts.

Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment, giving and receiving constructive feedback effectively.

Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress), e-newsletter platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), Microsoft Office suite, graphic design software, and Infographic/data visualization applications (Adobe Illustrator).

Sound understanding of social media platforms, particularly Twitter and LinkedIn, in alignment with Equal Measure’s communications strategy.

Exceptional project management skills, enabling you to handle multiple deadlines and simultaneous projects while demonstrating independence and initiative.

Willingness to work from 9am-5pm ET and occasional national travel.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with project teams and clients to effectively communicate project results through various deliverables.

Provide timely editorial and design feedback and assistance to project staff for external and internal publications and products.

Coordinate the release and publication of external products, supporting communications campaigns and promotional efforts.

Manage work plan timelines and budgets, including branding, advertising, communications, and event-related expenses.

Interact with contractors, vendors, and partners to ensure successful project delivery and strategic communications.

Maintain consistent adherence to approved branding guidelines.

Oversee publication production stages from drafting to design and dissemination.

Identify opportunities to leverage, promote, and communicate Equal Measure's strategy, programs, and goals.

Undertake special projects as directed.
