The Graphic and Digital Designer role is directly responsible for the delivery of highly effective digital, print, and video solutions that support and reflect the GTE Financial brand and credit union objectives. In addition, this individual will serve as an administrator for GTE Financial website(s) and the enterprise email marketing system, building new content, maintaining existing content, and making proactive recommendations to enhance digital and design assets. The Graphic and Digital Designer must be a positive and highly organized self-learner with excellent communication skills, able to apply feedback quickly and proficiently. GTE Financial is a nimble, fast-paced organization that is change-heavy; the Graphic and Digital Designer will need to be adept at switching gears and reprioritizing deadlines and scope with team members and stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Design:
- Responsible for designing and editing artwork for various mediums including digital, email, social media, print, advertisements, brochures, signage/outdoor, event marketing, and video. Must maintain brand consistency and overall brand integrity, while creatively meeting stakeholder and project objectives. A thorough understanding of corporate branding, layout, color theory, and typography in both print and digital media is required.
- Must proficiently manage multiple projects at a time balancing flexible deadlines with hard deadlines to ensure on-time delivery, without sacrificing quality.
- Requires daily management of the creative pipeline, using a work management platform to organize deadlines, prioritize tasks, and streamline communication with stakeholders. Must be able to change gears quickly and autonomously in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
- Responsible for careful proofing, quality assurance, and the final delivery of print-ready and traffic-ready artwork: (resolution, size, colors, appropriate file type, fonts, packaging, bleed, crop marks, etc.)
- Support and will sometimes lead the creation of video content including concept development, filming, and editing, as well as photography.
- Design strategic messaging and campaigns to support and further organizational business goals.
- Meet regularly with team members and business stakeholders on department initiatives and will often need to share ideas, negotiate changes, and provide creative input and direction. Must also be comfortable taking direction from others while also offering expertise and advice in a productive and professional manner.
- Help manage and maintain the visual branding standards guide to be used throughout the organization and by business partners.
- Stay on top of leading trends in design and continuously learn new skills that enhance GTE Financial’s brand and in-house capabilities.
- Will occasionally work with and oversee third parties on the fulfillment of creative deliverables.
Website Administration:
- Create and update content on GTE Financial website(s) via a content management system. Limited coding may be required. This will often include the creation of new pages, editing text, updating, and creating new banner ads, and designing custom digital solutions when required. Many updates are time-sensitive, and some may occur as a result of an emergency or planned system update, occasionally requiring after-hours or weekend support.
- Ensure content and subject matter are accurate and current by regularly reviewing, proofing, and auditing published content. Will support internal and third-party reviews of digital assets and will be involved in ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are met.
- Continuously look to optimize copy, keywords, and landing pages for search engine optimization and conversion; this individual must keep up to date on trends in web design and experience to enhance marketing and credit union objectives. To make proactive recommendations and to report on results and performance.
- Monitor the organization’s brand on the web, social media, and in app stores, ensuring information is correct, providing recommendations, and acting when possible.
Email Administration:
- Create, quality control, and manage the monthly member newsletter.
- Create graphic assets and evaluate and maintain design principles throughout all email marketing.
- Utilizing A/B testing, analytics, and reporting tools to optimize current campaigns.
- To update and create new email campaigns, providing ongoing reporting and performance insights.
- Maintain a calendar of emails, as well as a digital library of all emails that go out from internal sources as well as external sources to ensure optimal scheduling.
Operational:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, must have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet critical deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency.
- Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
- Bilingual is a bonus (English/Spanish).
Required Skills:- Operate on a Mac-based environment with the following tools and applications preferred:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere)
- Content management system (Adobe AEM)
- Email marketing tool (Documatix)
- Software used to upload content to specific platforms (video, ATMs, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor or technical certification preferred.
- Formal design training required.
- Min 2-5 years of experience in graphic design or a combination of education and experience.
Position Details:
- Location: Downtown Tampa – GTE Headquarters
- Department Hours: Monday– Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
- Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
Work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or remote) may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice if possible.
Required for Remote Work:
- A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
- Must live in a location that can leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
- Minimum upload speed 5 MB/s, preferred upload speed 25 MB/s.
- Minimum download speed 25 MB/s, preferred download speed 50 MB/s.
- Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements before the first day of training.
- Hybrids - Candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to commute to and from the office location as needed regularly.
