The US Composting is seeking a creative, energetic, and entrepreneurial marketing
professional to manage marketing tactics for USCC’s programs and products. They
will contribute broadly to all aspects of the fulfillment of USCC’s mission and
vision through marketing of revenue-generating programs of the US Composting
Council.
This position executes priorities set in the overall strategic marketing plan, focusing on theproducts and programs under USCC's banner. The successful candidate will work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to implement the tactics to carry out the USCC’s organization-wide marketing plan, as well as partner with program staff to understand and advise on tactics to carry out the marketing goals of programs and committees.
Areas of Focus
- Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in developing overall annual marketing strategy
- Ensure the USCC brand and branding guidelines are carried through in all marketing and external materials
- Design, create and carry out the tactics laid out in USCC’s strategic plan and marketing plan including:
- Monthly Compost Communicator newsletter in conjunction with the membership team
- Market Development Committee awareness campaigns
- Advocacy grassroots campaigns
- Professional Development program marketing tactics
- Membership recruitment, lapse and retention campaigns
- STA
- Conference
- Support staff andvendors and exhibitors on annual conference deliverables, including advertising placements, attendee, sponsor and exhibitor marketing and deliverables, print and digital signage and social media promotions
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager in development of messages, themes, promotions and other support for USCC marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with the USCC’s membership team and database team on expanding and updating member and prospect records, data security, and renewals.
- Develop content for USCC, ensuring that messaging maintains a consistent voice. Write e marketing campaigns, , including selecting and culling target lists
- Ensure all communication materials are grammatically correct, formatted according to department style guide, and in compliance with laws governing anti-SPAM regulations and registered and trademark symbols.
- Carry out any membership engagement goals that require marketing support.
- Provide copywriting for articles, brochures, web copy and marketing copy.
Job Requirements
- Ability to organize, monitor and execute multiple marketing projects simultaneously and consistently to meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing or an equivalent major.
- Display excellent writing skills
- Be a highly motivated self-starter, team-oriented and willing to take the initiative in learning about programs, members and the industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
- Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms and engagement results for an organization is preferred.
- Experience with Adobe, Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, constant contact, and customer relationship management systems/software.
- Web and graphic design.
Travel:Travel at about 10% in and out of state.
