Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Specialist – Communications and Engagement is to coordinate, write/edit internal communications and support Team Member engagement initiatives that align with the strategies and goals of the organization.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Write/edit memos, welcome letters and promotional announcements, employee event communication plans, and Team Member newsletter articles.
- Research, propose, and submit Team Member or Company awards and recognition.
- Create and design communication pieces to thoroughly communicate Team Member events, and programs to Team Members.
- Maintain/revise/develop content related to Human Resources on available internal communication platforms such as The Daily Serenade, VTV, myHR, newsletters, and other communication initiatives
- Update and manage daily announcements through The Daily Serenade.
- Update information on Team Member kiosks.
- Update and manage all internal signage.
- Update and manage the heart-of-house video monitor announcements.
- Contribute to the development of publications and websites, facilitate marketing campaigns, schedule meetings, and create timelines.
- Assist with coordinating and supporting all HR internal engagement initiatives.
- Act as backup to the Communications and Engagement team when on flex or out of the office (tasks, projects, initiatives, etc.).
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field is preferred
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources event planning, internal communications, or special events.
- Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
- Proven experience creating targeted content preferred.
- Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and budget management.
- Demonstrated experience in copy writing or journalism, editing experience, analytics, and public speaking preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Stratton Warren.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
