Job summary
The Development & Grant Coordinator will report to the Director of Development and work with the extended team. The Development & Grant Coordinator will be responsible to assist in various aspects of fundraising including, coordination of the direct mail program, donor cultivation, special and third-party events, foundation research, grant requests, and create and update the foundation development calendar. This role will also be responsible for coordinating with the Director of Development on the implementation of the yearly Strategic Plan.?
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
- Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering including internal contributor input, writing, review, leadership approval, and submission. Creates and updates the grants development calendar ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Creates and routinely updates a library of templated materials for use in proposal development and support databases.
- Maintains accurate records in MFC systems (Neon Database, Shared Drive, and other systems as requested) and prepares weekly reports to the Director of Development, to provide information as requested and required.
- Steward grant funds via acknowledgment and monitor how grant funds are used.
- News releases and newsletter highlights.
- Write and submit foundation reports including interim and final.
- Works closely with the Director of Development to address day-to-day support of development programs, fundraising events, base tours, and donor stewardship.
- Assists in the preparation of social networking features and testimonials.
- Assists in monitoring and coordinating the direct mail program to include concept, design, reporting, and acknowledgment when/where needed.
- Assists with solicitation of event sponsors and in-kind donors and with leading up to and day of operations of fundraising events as needed.
- Serves as a community liaison by participating in community fundraising events and fielding questions and requests from the public.
- Attending department and staff meetings.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate degree or a minimum of three years of experience in Development.
- Experience in Special Events Planning.
- Donor Research and Analysis.
- Experience in Networking.
- A people person with strong written and verbal skills.
- Commitment to the mission of fundraising.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Able to work collaboratively during diversity, as well as to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor management software, and the internet.
- Public relations and communication skills.
- Proficiency in social networking tools and techniques.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
