Director of Content to assist in determining our association's content strategy and execution of it. In concert with the Senior Vice President, the Director of Content will be responsible for curating and executing a comprehensive content plan that aligns with the association's goals, engages our members, generates advertising revenue, and drives brand awareness. Your creative vision, strategic mindset, and collaborative abilities will play a crucial role in determining and elevating our organization's online presence, industry impact, and member engagement.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Business Operations.

Essential Functions

- Content Strategy - Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the association's strategic imperatives, positioning us as a thought leader in our industry and delivering value to our members. In addition, this role works with our sales group to align and maximize monetization opportunities of content.
- Content Creation - Oversee the creation and curation of quality, relevant, and engaging content and determining the best distribution platform(s), whether it’s video, digital articles, op-eds, blog posts, newsletters, podcasts, social media, or other digital/print channels. This position will need to write and produce some content itself while outsourcing and aggregating content. This position is also expected to discover ways to utilize AI for generating quality content of relevancy and how AI can support/expedite current content creation.
- Editorial Management and Production - Oversee the production of content and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure a consistent and organized flow of content, coordinating with various departments to incorporate their insights and contributions. The Director of Content will be responsible for producing the Senior Living Insights Weekly digital bulletin, the Senior Living Works Insider digital newsletter, Special Reports & Projects, and Video/Digital podcasts, white papers, executive summaries, and blogs.
- Partnerships and Collaborations – Establish, manage, and nurture relationships and content partnerships with industry influencers (members), partners, out-of-industry experts, and other associations to amplify content reach and strengthen the association's position. This includes research, data, and survey partnerships that produce industry reports and/or outcomes.
- Team Collaboration - Collaborate with internal project leads and stakeholders, industry thought-leaders and freelancers, guiding their efforts, providing feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes creativity and growth. This includes working in concert with the Director of Learning on a frequent basis to create a 1 + 1 = 3 scenario, and with the SVP and Director of Sales on integrating monetization and sponsorship opportunities.
- Communications support - Collaborate with the Communications Manager and other appropriate project leads to contribute to press releases (approximately 10-15 per year). These releases are usually related to program, product, research, services, and event announcements.
- Brand Messaging - Work in concert with Vice President of Marketing to ensure all content adheres to the association's brand guidelines and conveys a cohesive and compelling message that resonates with our target audiences.
- Audience Analysis - Collaborating with the Vice President of Marketing to conduct regular analysis of audience preferences, behaviors, and trends to tailor content to meet their evolving needs and preferences.
- Content Distribution – Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to implement strategies to optimize content distribution, increase reach, and engage our audience on different platforms, including social media, email marketing, and SEO optimization.
- Industry Trends & Knowledge - Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for content innovation and growth. Be a senior living content junkie.

Qualifications
- Self-starters with a creative mindset and understanding of monetization, possessing the ability to think holistically and problem-solve while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.
- Proven experience – 5 years of experience in digital content creation and management and/or in the digital media space.
- Experience building, developing, and managing content partnerships and freelance writers.
- Knowledge of industry-specific issues, trends, and challenges within the senior living industry is preferred.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt content to different formats and platforms.
- Understanding of SEO, analytics tools, and content management systems to optimize content performance and track results.
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging social media and other digital channels for content distribution and audience engagement.
- Strong project management skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- A passion for the association's mission and a commitment to promoting its objectives through compelling content.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.

This is a full-time position. Days and work hours are Monday through Friday during core flexible work hours. Argentum has a hybrid schedule of both in-office and telework. Up to 10% travel is expected.
