Description
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Development with the development, implementation and evaluation of marketing and communications strategies, including internal and external communications, graphic design, website management, and social media for IMPOWER. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator focuses on managing and creating content for our digital marketing channels, including social media and our website. This role also develops and manages marketing and communication projects across IMPOWER programs.
This position is a non-exempt, hourly position with a starting pay rate of $18.27 per hour, $38,001.60 annualized. This is a full time position.
Essential responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate, execute, monitor, and measure IMPOWER's marketing and communications efforts under the direction of the Director of Development.
- Manage and maintain social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, including, but not limited to, creating and managing content across all platforms while responding to messages and inquiries that come through social media channels in a timely manner.
- Responsible for creating and executing annual Mental Health Awareness Month campaign.
- Monitor and update the IMPOWER website as needed.
- In collaboration with management team, orchestrate and implement a cohesive marketing plan for all IMPOWER activities and events, including development of deadlines and creative benchmarks.
- Build relationships and create new partnerships with Central Florida media outlets.
- Actively seek growth opportunities for the organization by keeping up-to-date on current market trends, developing media outlets, and community outreach opportunities.
- Responsible for writing and designing content for monthly e-newsletter.
- Assist with marketing and communication efforts for IMPOWER fundraising events.
- Create and revise various forms of media, including print and digital advertising, digital/social platform content, email marketing, website management, press releases, and marketing collateral.
- Coordinates and develops graphic design materials (ex: infographics) for communications and marketing initiatives, including newsletters, digital media, email campaigns, event materials, website pages, community calendars, general correspondence, etc.
- Represent IMPOWER at community events and outreach activities.
- Attend and support Development at annual fundraising events.
- Highly self-motivated and must be able to independently work on multiple projects at once using good judgement to prioritize as needed.
- Works effectively and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, clients and other community members providing clear goals, feedback and providing reasonable deadlines.
- Complete required training courses within designated time frame.
- Abide by ethics, policies and procedures and professional standards of IMPOWER.
Requirements
- Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
- Two years of marketing or relevant experience required. Healthcare and/or social service experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding and past use of Google Analytics a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Multi-tasking expertise and the ability to meet deadlines
- Social media content development experience including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
- Website copywriting, site editing and design experience in WordPress
- Graphic design experience with Canvas, Adobe Suite
- Proficient in email marketing software, such as Constant Contact, or a similar program
- Successful background screenings through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State and County
- Valid drivers license and auto insurance, and successful motor vehicle driving record background check
- Negative result from a multi panel drug screen
