About You
As an HR Data Analyst, you will support consulting services to Texas public schools, region service centers, and community colleges through data analysis and report creation. The analyst prepares and analyzes HR survey data, prepares spreadsheets, supports compensation consultants, and writes reports. The analyst works with a team to plan and provide all needed support and analysis for consulting services.
This position is fully remote, but candidate must reside in Texas.
A Typical Day- Provide data analysis support to HR and compensation consultants on assigned client consulting projects.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret client data. Uses data analysis techniques to analyze, summarize, display, and explain data.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data to analyze market competitiveness and determine appropriate pay ranges. Calculates pay plan and employee pay adjustments that take into consideration cost limitations, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
- Prepare spreadsheets, tables, and charts of data for projects.
- Maintain timelines of consulting projects using task management software.
- Complete independent pay system maintenance projects: collect data, analyze pay ranges, make recommendations to clients using independent analysis and judgment, and provide a written report by project deadlines.
- Participate in review of all reported survey data for accuracy, completeness, and reliability according to data guidelines provided.
- Communicate directly with survey participants and members regarding participation, survey access issues, survey reports, and any other concerns.
- More experienced analysts:
- Complete independent employee opinion survey projects; works with client, administers survey, and provides a written report by project deadlines.
- Assist in training new team members by collaborating and reviewing work.
- Perform related duties assigned.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Communicate with client contact to clarify and correct missing or erroneous data and to clarify job titles, duties, and pay plans.
- Support consultants in creation of reports of findings and recommendations to clients. Reviews work of consultants in creation of reports of findings and recommendations to clients. Reviews work of consultants and peers for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
- Identify and execute improvements in consulting templates, salary surveys, and other technical support tools.
- Collaborate with other analysts to develop, test, and document work procedures, tools, and templates for consulting services.
- Write brief articles about HR or compensation topics for the HR Services newsletter.
Skills For Success
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, human resources, social sciences, or related field.
- One to three (1-3) years of experience using spreadsheets and analyzing data.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be thorough, accurate, and precise in analyzing and reviewing data.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience using and interpreting wage and salary surveys a plus.
